As a promoter of culture and diversity, Gerald Nkusi is a travel ecopreneur with Adventure Afrika and founder of Home of Kigezi (a Museum of Living Culture and Natural History), Nkunga Eco Village, and the Food Forest Africa movement. His roots and home are in Kisoro, a part of the Kigezi region in Uganda. Starting as a waiter trading long nights of work for education at the famous Makerere University 2006 and a US Exchange Alumni-IVLP 2017, he has transformed into a local and global actor in the cultural heritage and conservation space. Gerald's Food Forest Africa movement is revolutionizing the use of small and waste spaces for food, health, education and environment to help counter food insecurity, poor nutrition, and the degradation of natural resources. 

I am a third-year student at African Leadership University pursuing a Bachelor of Global Challenges degree, graduating in June 2024. I'm passionate about working in the environmental and wildlife conservation industry to use skills gained from my tertiary education and make a difference as a research professional. I previously worked as a research intern on Land use activities at ALU School of wildlife conservation. And I gained hands-on experience working with writing case studies, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and working and communicating professionally.

Hi! My name is Sam. Photography is a side passion, wildlife in particular. Scuba Diving is another. It has led me to some remote locations both above and below the water. Through it, my personal awareness of the threat of climate change, extinction of species and the destruction of some of Earth’s greatest landscapes has increased. I’ve met many people & photographers along the way whose passionate dedication to marine and wildlife conservation has ignited a similar passion in me. I am grateful for these encounters and pledge to start making a difference myself, in some small way. As such, I decided to start Wild Conversations, a digital business service for wildlife conservationists, photographers & filmmakers, blog & early podcast. My mission is to 'converse to conserve' with the intention of highlighting individual wildlife conservation photographers and filmmakers. What they do, why they do it and how they hope to change the world though their images and films. I offer a wide range of services including communications, social media management, business development, research focusing on communicating the message of wildlife conservation.

I'm a Trustee of WildTeam UK - an organisation providing conservationists with the training and skills needed to design and deliver their projects. I am also Director of the Whitley Fund for Nature - a London-based charity offering conservation leaders across the Global South funding (Awards), training and profile boost.
