CONSERVATION EDUCATION
The Kenya Conservation Education Consortium (KCEC) is an ambitious initiative that aims to bring together conservation organizations, conservancies, people, and programs with the purpose of protecting wildlife and preserving the biodiversity of Kenya. It was clear from the workshop KCEC held in November 2023 that many organizations are doing great conservation education and programs conserving fragile species and ecosystems but aren't recognized because they are working in isolation. The consortium objectives include:
Develop a comprehensive database of conservation education actors in Kenya who contribute both directly and indirectly to CE. This includes where the organizations are located and who you serve. What your agency is doing in conservation education? The mechanisms by which you deliver conservation education.
CEC hopes to create an online platform where institutions practicing conservation education can share stories of their success and challenges and generate an impact evaluation system to be adopted by conservation education actors across the nation
Currently, we are short of funds to propel this initiative, so I'm reaching out to you to help map donars or to support this great initiative.
I work for this initiative as the Conservation Education Officer.
