Liane Fulford

Training Specialist, WildTeam

I'm Liane, and I am a WildLearning Specialist at WildTeam! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! For the last few years, I've been working in Seychelles, focusing on island and marine conservation efforts, particularly coral restoration and turtle nesting monitoring. If you ask me questions about coral, be prepared for me to get very nerdy about it! Prior to that, I was managing a project in Northern Thailand, where I worked closely with a local community to set up ethical elephant experiences in their village. In my free time, I love running and hiking, and being anywhere in nature. I have also learnt to freedive in the last few years and enjoy doing that when possible. I'm really interested in talking to different people and learning from them and their unique experiences.
Ricky Naude

Grant Writer, Friends of JACK Primate Sanctuary

As a former attorney and executive, I bring a unique combination of legal and business expertise. I have transitioned from working in solo and small law firm practices and corporate counsel roles to pursuing freelance writing, teaching, consulting, and advisory positions that foster positive change. I hold a Juris Doctor degree and a Master's in International Business. Additionally, I have over seven years of experience teaching law and business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as well as providing professional development counseling to attorneys as a partner at the global law firm Baker McKenzie. My commitment to conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainability drives my career. I've successfully pursued nonprofit grant writing and research, including work with the JACK Primate Sanctuary in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I further enhance my skills through bot training at Outlier AI, focusing on strengthening artificial intelligence (AI) for research, writing, and analytics. I am dedicated to promoting nature conservation and sustainable development in biodiversity hotspots, particularly in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. I aim to integrate wildlife conservation with community-led economic programs while respecting Indigenous interests. My strengths include fundraising, grant writing, critical thinking, and expertise in contract and policy negotiation and drafting, particularly in the areas of sustainability and data privacy.
I am I am Ann Kuria, a degree degree graduate in Environmental Studies & Community development which closely aligns with the WILDTEAM’S focus on conservation. The degree has equipped me with a strong understanding in ecological principles, environmental policy and sustainable practices. It has also equipped me with knowledge and skills necessary for protecting and restoring nature, encouraging a harmonious interaction between human beings and the environment.                       I joined WildHub because I have a particular interest in project management, particularly in how it can be applied in conservation initiatives. Project management is crucial for successfully implementing conservation projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and evaluation. I’m excited about the opportunity to leverage my skills in project management to drive impactful conservation efforts.  Some of my experience in conservation in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya lies in: •Lion tracking •Monitoring grass species composition and biomass status.        •Monitoring population structure of threatened herbivore species, specifically the Grevy's zebra and Beisa oryx.  •Monitoring population dynamics of select predators particularly the cheetah, lions and hyenas.      •Mapping active and old abandoned cattle bomas around the conservancy. I am keen to apply project management principles to streamline processes, manage resources efficiently, and achieve measurable outcomes in conservation projects. By integrating my passion for environmental sustainability with my project management skills, I aim to contribute to creating and executing effective conservation strategies that benefit both the environment and the communities involved.
