I am currently an assistant Biodiversity Manager with Lagos Free Zone, Nigeria. I am leading the biodiversity conservation projects of the Company ranging from the avifauna species diversity of the Zone, biodiversity offset projects on three different sites (Ikorodu, Omo Forest & Ekiadolor Forest Reserve) outside the Zones to the development of about 40 hectares green and blue covers within the Zone. Similarly, I am also remotely coordinating the Southwest Atlas Team of the Nigerian Bird Atlas Project of the A.P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute (APLORI), Jos. The aim of the project is to document the distributions and status of the Nigerian avifauna species. I have 13 Years+ of experience in education and research, environmental sustainability and conservation. I hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology & Pollution Management, diploma in Estimation of GHG Emissions & Carbon Sequestration in AFOLU - WBG Institute USA, diploma in Introductory Ornithology Field Course - APLORI / National Geographic Society, HSE-MS PMPI certified. I am an IBA / KBA Mapping and Monitoring Specialist, Environmental Risk Assessor, Spatial Data Analyst (QGIS), Biodiversity and socio-economy researcher, Wildlife Hazard Assessor, Avian Ecologist, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) advocate, Protected Area Management Specialist. I’m passionate about community-based conservation, biodiversity protection, and storytelling as a tool to raise awareness about environmental issues. I’m currently interning at Save the Elephants, Tsavo, Kenya where I’ve been gaining hands-on experience in ecological data collection and field operations. I am Nyaradzo Hoto, an Ecologist and Biodiversity Supervisor with Akashinga – The Brave Ones, based in the Lower Zambezi Valley, Zimbabwe. My professional focus is on biodiversity monitoring, ecological research, reforestation, and community-based conservation. I am Mugisha Joshua Gideon, an environmentalist dedicated to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. I work with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) as an Environmental Educator and Conservationist, where I focus on conservation awareness, ecosystem protection, and inspiring responsible stewardship of natural resources. I am also a specialized assessor of Red List ecosystems, carrying out assessments that provide critical insights into ecosystem health, threats, and resilience, supporting evidence-based conservation actions. Beyond my technical expertise, I am passionate about environmental community engagement, working closely with local stakeholders to strengthen conservation participation and nature-based solutions. In addition, I serve as a Member Mobiliser with Green Totos, where I play an active role in uniting and empowering young people to take part in environmental initiatives, conservation campaigns, and climate action programs.
