Fairuse Akter

Community Advocate, WildHub

An explorer and an aspirant biodiversity conservation researcher. I seek to delve deeper into the study of the human-nature nexus and strive to foster more harmonious coexistence. I have gained brief experience in wildlife conservation at the Creative Conservation Alliance, working with Western Hoolock Gibbons and a few other wild animals. I am also working as an Associate Trainer at Mekateam, a game-based pedagogy where I provide training on basic climate literacy and biodiversity conservation to youth. Moreover, I synthesize and express my understanding of biodiversity and the natural world through my initiative, 'Toru.' Currently, I am undertaking research on Asian Elephants addressing the human-elephant conflict in Bangladesh.
Joshua Da Cruz

Natural Heritage Officer, Living Levels Partnership, RSPB

I currently work as a Natural Heritage Officer for the Living Levels Partnership. This organisation is dedicated to conserving the Gwent Levels, a historically siginificant habitat with 8 SSSI sites. I am responsible for liasing with partners such as National Resources Wales along with stakeholders such as farmers in order to best manage the area. I am also in charge of developing a citizen science project to record species present in the area. Alongside my full time job I volunteer at Bristol Zoological Society as an engagement volunteer. Here, I have the chance to talk to volunteers about the conservation projects and animals of the Bristol Zoo Project, along with taking part in wildlife surveys with their conservation team.
Justin Birkhoff

Vertebrate Conservation Coordinator, Global Center for Species Survival - Indianapolis Zoo

I am an enthusiastic and progressive conservation professional with over 15 years of experience in zoological institutions and conservation non-profits. I currently work as part of a unique partnership between the IUCN SSC and the Indianapolis Zoo as part of the Global Center for Species Survival. Throughout my career, I have focused on the role of zoos as conservation organizations, serving as a bridge between in situ and ex situ conservation. I am a firm supporter of the IUCN’s One Plan Approach to conservation. My range of experience provides a broad foundation to draw from and offers unique insights for problem-solving and partnership engagement. I have experience working for and with domestic and international conservation non-profits. My focus includes supporting the development of conservation skills, utilizing innovative tools, technologies, and approaches to tackle conservation challenges, and emphasizing the contributions of local communities to wildlife conservation. I strongly believe in the power of storytelling as a conservation tool. I am eager to connect with other conservationists and offer them support, skills, and training to aid in their ongoing work.

Robin Sinclair

Field Ecologist, Australian WIldlife Conservancy

I work as a Field Ecologist with the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, a non-profit with the goal of effectively conserving Australia's native species and their habitats. I live and work at Mt Gibson Wildlife Sanctuary, a 131,000+ha nature reserve on Badimia Country in semi-arid south-west Western Australia. Here I help conduct biodiversity monitoring, contribute to applied ecological research and assist with the reintroduction of locally extinct species. Recently, my work has focused on reintroducing the Chuditch (AKA Western Quoll), a spotty marsupial predator, to the sanctuary. My work is primarily in the conservation of threatened mammals, but I also have a keen interest in bird conservation and ecology. Outside my work I enjoy running, birdwatching, baking, wildlife photography, and walks in nature.
I'm Osben Awinkugri. I'm happy to be part of this great family and looking forward to learning, expanding my  networks and connecting with people as I become a catalyst for growth. I volunteered for two years as a Project Officer in a community-led biodiversity conservation and livelihood empowerment project in communities within the Bui national park in Ghana. The activities included conservation advocacy and capacity building for small scale farmers. I love reading motivational books, jogging in the morning and always curious to learn new things when given the opportunity.

Liane Fulford

Training Specialist, WildTeam

I'm Liane, and I am a WildLearning Specialist at WildTeam! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! For the last few years, I've been working in Seychelles, focusing on island and marine conservation efforts, particularly coral restoration and turtle nesting monitoring. If you ask me questions about coral, be prepared for me to get very nerdy about it! Prior to that, I was managing a project in Northern Thailand, where I worked closely with a local community to set up ethical elephant experiences in their village. In my free time, I love running and hiking, and being anywhere in nature. I have also learnt to freedive in the last few years and enjoy doing that when possible. I'm really interested in talking to different people and learning from them and their unique experiences.
