        Hello,
I hope you are doing well. We will archive the WildHub course room at the end of 2025. So, please make sure you’ve the contact details of any course mates you want to stay in touch with.
The learning resources will stay on Google Drive for at least a couple of months. Why not download the Manual to use in your career and share with colleagues and friends?

Welcome to Project Management for Wildlife Conservation Aug-Oct 2025

Hello everyone. Welcome to this Project Management for Wildlife Conservation private room. My name is Mavuto, and I will guide you through your journey in this course. I joined WildTeam on July 29, 2024.
My passion for wildlife conservation dates back to my childhood, growing up in a village between two nature reserves,– Majete Wildlife Reserve and Lengwe National Park in Malawi. I have worked in conservation projects in Southern Africa (Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe) for over twelve years. I hope to learn about your interest in conservation during our interaction in this course.
In my free time I love hiking (I love hills/mountains), cycling, park walks and game drives in a national park. I'm excited to learn how you spend your free time and hope to discover new hobbies.
This platform (private room) is intended for exchanging training materials, sharing resources and information that you think may be of interest to others here, asking questions, supporting each other, reflecting on what you have learned, and getting to know each other. You can use the @ to mention a specific person, or you can message people directly. Don't forget to keep an eye on the room to make sure you get notifications!
Your exercise today is to please add your introductions on this discussion, as comments below this post. We would love to hear about your work, where you are based and why you are doing this training. If you feel like it please also share any hobbies you have and perhaps a link to something inspirational, fun, or useful.
Also, feel free to comment on each other's introductions.
I look forward to meeting you all soon.
Thanks, Mavuto 🦋

Hi Alex. I used to work for ZSL in Cameroon. That was a while back ... from 2007 to 2012 ! At that time, ZSL conducted its first and sole project in Cameroon: the Wildlife Wood Project and I was privileged to be its coordinator. Based in Yaoundé and Mindourou (Pallisco's headquarters)
Time has passed since then. I think I've seen you mentioned a ZSL in today's exercise about naming documents but you are a consultant for TRAFFIC. Did you work for ZSL?
Hi Alex, thanks for sharing the report. You're doing amazing job and thanks for your contribution during live sessions! All the best,
Mavuto
Hello Tiziano! Congratulations on your recent graduation and specialization in wildlife conservation. Was great seeing you in the live session last week. Your work to reintroduce the Eurasian lynx sounds like an incredible first project! It is inspiring to see your enthusiasm for both large carnivores and conservation science tools such as species distribution modeling and population viability analysis. I look forward to learning more about projects you are working on in the lupcoming live sessions. See you online!
Hello Ruth! Welcome to PMWC! Your background in Environmental Engineering and your work with reforestation projects are incredibly valuable, and your interest in expanding to wildlife conservation is inspiring. I amazed by your organisation's jagua restoration drive among others. Paraguay’s biodiversity is so important, and your work has the potential to make a significant impact. I'm sure your experiences and insights will bring a lot of value to our learning community.
Thank you for sharing the link to earn more about the amazing work you're doing!
See you in the live sessions, Mavuto
