About Romance
Hello everyone,
I'm delighted to be part of this community.
My name is Romance HOUNKPATIN and I'm originally from Benin. I'm passionate about socioeconomic and sustainable development, which cannot be achieved without a sound understanding and rational management of our natural resources.
This is one of the reasons I'm taking this course.
I work in project management, particularly social projects, and I'm deeply committed to inclusion, social justice, education, and any initiative that contributes to strengthening human dignity for all and developing the resilience and growth of individuals and communities.

Welcome to WildHub, Romance! It's great to have you join us. Would you like to share more about your work? Are you involved in conservation initiatives in Benin?
Thank you @Flavia Manieri . Nice to meet you.
Yes, with one of the NGOs I am member of, we planted mangrove trees on 1 hectare of land in one of Benin's wetlands in 2024 to contribute to the restoration of mangrove ecosystems.
Did you know that they represent natural protection elements for flora and fauna, in addition to being the ecosystem that absorbs the most CO2 of all the ecosystems in the world?
They also serve as a refuge for many endangered species and represent an essential link in the migratory birdlife (Gowthrope & Lamarche, 1993).
We did this in collaboration with local authorities and development stakeholders in the area, and it was an opportunity to raise awareness among communities about the crucial role wetlands play in ecological balance.
I want to be better equipped to contribute to wildlife conservation on a larger scale and interacting with people like you and taking part to PPCW will certainly help.
Can you tell me more about you? Your work, perspectives and where you're working?
I look forward to learning from you and sharing with you.
