WildHub Co-founder, WildHub Conservation Community

My background is mainly in species conservation, education and capacity exchange. I researched mother-young interactions in gorillas and chimpanzees, in captivity and the wild. After that, I worked for three years in Indonesia, where I developed and implemented youth ambassador and community engagement programmes on local and regional scales. I co-founded WildHub, a community of nature conservation professionals, in 2020 and work as their Community Lead. I am furthermore on the Advisory Board of the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) at the University of Kent where I obtained my PhD on capacity development for conservation in 2022.

Viktoria Staufer

Student, University of Vienna

Hi, I'm Viki! I'm a biology student from Vienna and in the course of my studies I specialised in nature conservation and species protection. I love being in nature and spending time with my dog in the forest. Since I have learned a lot through my studies and my love of nature, the most important thing for me is to protect and preserve our special habitats and all their inhabitants. Because I also want to get involved with the protection of nature and animals in a practical way, I will be working with a wildlife protection organisation in Africa in the summer and I am really looking forward to it!

I'm a biodiversity consultant working mainly in the corporate space. I work with large companies to help them figure out their nature-related impacts, dependancies, risks and opportunities, then use this information to create biodiversity strategies.

Lia Nahomi Kajiki

Environmental consultant, several

I am a Brazilian Ornithologist with a PhD in Ecology and National Geographic Explorer. My interest in birds started as a child when I was keen to understand how they communicated with each other. This curiosity about birds’ songs turned into a passion for every matter about their natural history. I have collaborated and worked with different research groups and companies across Brazil. My main research interests involve the evolution of sociality and social networks, sexual selection, and how birds' behaviour is affected by environmental changes. During my PhD, I coordinated an educational conservation outreach project with special needs and regular students from low-income families. Since then, I developed a strong interest in creative solutions to connect people and nature as an effective way to work towards biodiversity conservation. I am currently willing to leave academia for a while and change careers to directly work with biodiversity conservation. My main expertise includes team coordination, fundraising, training and collaboration development.
