I'm a member of the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) and Expert in Environment and Natural Resource Conservation through Communication, Education, Participation and Awareness Creation (C.E.P.A) Programs
I teach individuals and school communities on the importance of conserving, preserving and protecting natural resources, biodiversity, and ecosystems. It aims to raise awareness, impart knowledge, and foster attitudes and behaviors that support sustainable living and environmental stewardship in schools.
My love for nature fuels my passion for Wildlife Conservation. I have experience in Wildlife Crime law, policies and capacity building for stakeholders in the wildlife conservation field. The WildHub community is a great platform to network, create and grow career and life transformative partnerships and gain skills on how to best address the Illegal Wildlife Trade global menace through proper project planning, management and governance.
Ibrahim, a passionate advocate for wildlife and plant species conservation, has dedicated his career to scientific research and promoting harmonious co-existence between humans and wildlife.
Academically, Ibrahim holds a Master of Science degree in Forest and Nature Conservation with a specialization in society and policy from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Complementing his academic credentials, he earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies from Coventry University in the UK, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Development from the University of Bosaso in Somalia. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Ibrahim aspires to pursue a PhD in the near future.
With over a decade of experience in the non-profit biodiversity conservation sector and natural resource management in Somalia, Ibrahim brings a wealth of expertise to his work. He has collaborated with numerous international NGOs, UN agencies, and think tanks, leveraging his strong research-oriented and management background to drive impactful conservation initiatives.
Recognizing the need for a national organization with a broader focus on wildlife and plant species conservation, Ibrahim founded the www.speciessavior.org in 2019. As a researcher, Ibrahim has conducted extensive field analyses in the frankincense harvesting regions of Somalia, and has authored numerous research papers and articles on frankincense sites management and conservation status.

Experienced Environmental Engineer/Consultant with a proven track record of leading successful environmental initiatives and delivering sustainable solutions. My expertise encompasses a diverse range of areas, including Baseline Studies, Environment Impact Assessments (EIA/IEE/ESIA), Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, and Environmental Conservation & Sustainability.
Currently, I am making a significant impact as an Environmental Engineer/Consultant at one of the leading Environmental Consultancy, specializing in preparing comprehensive environmental study reports for clients primarily from Hamriyah Free Zone Sharjah and Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority Dubai. These reports play a crucial role in promoting environmental compliance and sustainable practices within the industry.
My background is mainly in species conservation, education and capacity development. I researched mother-young interactions in gorillas and chimpanzees, in captivity and the wild. After that, I worked for three years in Indonesia, where I developed and implemented youth ambassador and community engagement programmes on local and regional scales. I work as Community Manager at WildHub since 2020, and I am an Associate Member of the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) at the University of Kent where I obtained my PhD on capacity development for conservation in 2022.
