"I'm Vincent Xaler Lemayian, a conservationist with a strong background in biodiversity protection. I studied journalism but later developed a passion for protecting natural ecosystems. For the last 8 years, I have been working at The Wildlife Foundation as a conservancy manager at the Naretunoi community conservancy.  Over the years, I've worked on habitat restoration, wildlife monitoring and biodiversity assessment. Currently, I'm involved in a giraffe identification program to help conserve the iconic Maasai giraffe in the Nairobi National Park ecosystem. My goal is to continue making a positive impact by working with schools to improve on conservation education.

Wiem Boussellaa is a dedicated marine biologist researcher from Tunisia, specializing in marine conservation and the management of marine ecosystems. With a Ph.D. in Marine Sciences, Wiem has contributed significantly to projects aimed at preserving marine life. Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn in Naples, Italy, their work focuses on the energy expenditure and ecology of sea turtles during swimming. Wiem has held key roles in various marine conservation projects, including the Life MedTurtles project at the Faculty of Sciences of Sfax and the Deep Blue project with OGS. As a member of the Global Ghost Gear Initiative (GGGI) and a project manager for the Tunisian Taxonomy Association (ATUTAX), Wiem has actively participated in the fight against ghost fishing and has been instrumental in developing a National Code of Conduct for Ghost Gear Management in Tunisia. Throughout their career, Wiem has authored several publications on marine ecosystems and conservation and has been recognized for several innovative contributions to the field. With extensive experience in project management, scientific research, and international collaboration, they continue to drive impactful conservation efforts within the Mediterranean region. 

I am a Veterinary Surgeon with over a decade of professional experience, particularly in feline medicine. I hold a master’s degree in Conservation Medicine from the University of Edinburgh and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at CIBIO-BIOPOLIS and Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade do Porto. My doctoral research, conducted in collaboration with the EU LIFE Saving Wildcats project at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, focuses on the European wildcat-domestic cat interface, with an emphasis on understanding disease transmission and hybridisation between the two species. I previously worked at the Iberian Lynx ex-situ conservation program, with a special focus on ethology. I have participated in a range of wildlife medicine and conservation courses, including programs in Thailand, India, South Africa and the UK, further enhancing my learning in global conservation initiatives. I am strongly enthusiastic about One Health/Conservation Medicine and the need to adopt a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach, in order to understand and manage the complex health issues that we, together with our planet, face.

Hi everyone! I am here to continue learning as I transition from mostly being in zoos as both a keeper and trainer to full time conservation roles. I will be moving from the US to Costa Rica soon and looking to find work to do there. I am a huge bird nerd but love working with pretty much any animal out there. Hello! I'm Rebecca, and I am currently Course Leader for Higher Education at East Durham College. I decided to join MSc Primate Conservation after being inspired during my BSc in Animal Conservation Science. I found a book called "Gorillas in the Mist" and I had a lightbulb moment - primates! I had found my niche. This was confirmed later when I travelled to The Gambia to census the critically endangered Procolobus badius temmincki, during my thesis studying the Callithrix jacchus, and travelling to India to work in a rehabilitation centre for grey langurs and macaques.  I absolutely loved the MSc. It broadened my knowledge, increased my opportunities and really kickstarted my professional career. The lecturers are some of the best the field and it was a privilege to be brushing shoulders with such hard-working academics on a daily basis. I conducted my MSc thesis research at Blackpool Zoo, focusing on Gorilla gorilla gorilla social relationships and enclosure use. The chance to work with this charismatic species was a dream come true! The research has helped the zoo redevelop their gorilla enclosure, using my data to make informed decisions. I am also very happy to be part of a fledgeling, yet crucial organisation: Mountain Marmosets Conservation Program. As part of the Core Operation and Development Team, I am responsible for applying for grants, coordinating a team of students to develop a workshop planning meeting, and researching anything and everything about marmosets! This wonderful program is aiming to help develop an Action Plan to help save the endangered marmoset species' Callithrix aurita and Callithrix flaviceps. I hope to become even more involved with the program as we progress. Finally, I hope to progress onto a PhD within the next five years, developing my expertise and skills in primate conservation. Stay tuned for more primate related content! 

Hi, I'm Paul Chinyama a dedicated conservationist with a profound love for nature and a strong commitment to preserving biodiversity. My journey in conservation began with my passion for exploring wildlife, which has since evolved into a career focused on habitat restoration and species protection. With over four years of experience and a Bachelor of science in wildlife conservation and natural resource management, I have developed expertise in designing and implementing effective conservation programs. My work at African Parks leads me to a significant increase in native bird populations through habitat restoration efforts. I'm excited about the opportunity to contribute to preserve wildlife and continue making a positive impact on the environment.

While still working as a Teaching assistant and recently joining the Butterfly Conservation as a volunteer and setting up my own Transect I wanted to have a better understanding of Conservation to enable me to help the wild animals in desperate need.  Doing a biology degree over 20 years ago I felt like I needed a more current Conservation understanding  to help the butterflies and moths which I love.  I look forward to starting the course.

I am a passionate conservationist with six years of experience in the field. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's degree in Biodiversity Conservation at Chinhoyi University of Technology and serve as the Acting Head of the Biodiversity Monitoring and Ecosystem Services Department at My Trees Trust. In this role, I manage conservation projects across our three leased areas: Charara Safari Area, Tsetse Island, and Gache Kanyati Community Conservancy. I have a keen interest in modern conservation technologies, including EarthRanger, SMART, GIS, QGIS, and AI Camera Traps. My primary focus is on integrating traditional conservation practices with these innovative technologies to enhance our conservation efforts and promote sustainable practices.

I am a recent graduate from the Wildlife Research and Training Institute, with a passion for conservation and a diverse set of skills honed through hands-on experience.  During my attachment program at Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park and my volunteer work with Reefolution Trust, I have gained invaluable expertise in:  Coral Restoration: Engaging in coral planting, nursery maintenance, and out-planting to rejuvenate marine ecosystems. Marine Debris Cleanups: Organizing and participating in cleanups to protect our oceans. Community Engagement: Facilitating group discussions and outreach programs to foster local involvement in conservation efforts. Data Collection and Entry: Gathering and managing data crucial for research and conservation projects. Human-Wildlife Conflict Resolution: Developing strategies to mitigate conflicts between humans and wildlife.  My interests are deeply rooted in:  Wildlife Protection: Advocating for and implementing measures to safeguard endangered species. Environmental Education: Sharing knowledge and raising awareness through my Twitter (X) page. Habitat Restoration: Participating in projects aimed at restoring damaged ecosystems. I'm Liane, and I am a WildLearning Specialist at WildTeam! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! For the last few years, I've been working in Seychelles, focusing on island and marine conservation efforts, particularly coral restoration and turtle nesting monitoring. If you ask me questions about coral, be prepared for me to get very nerdy about it! Prior to that, I was managing a project in Northern Thailand, where I worked closely with a local community to set up ethical elephant experiences in their village. In my free time, I love running and hiking, and being anywhere in nature. I have also learnt to freedive in the last few years and enjoy doing that when possible. I'm really interested in talking to different people and learning from them and their unique experiences.
