Dear WildHub community,

I would like to celebrate an important milestone with you.

After a lot of behind-the-scenes work over the past year, WildHub is now independently registered as a charity in the Netherlands. This gives the community a sustainable home for the long term.

For those who are new to our community, WildHub opened its virtual doors in 2020, at a time when connection and peer support felt especially important. The initial aim was modest: to connect a few hundred conservation professionals through shared learning and exchange. In our first year, around 1,000 people found their way here. Today, WildHub brings together over 6,500 conservation professionals across more than 160 countries.

As the community matured, it became clear that ensuring WildHub’s continuity would require its own independent footing, so we could keep supporting peer learning, knowledge exchange, and access to opportunities in a sustainable way.

As part of this transition, responsibility for the platform now formally sits with the WildHub charity — something I’ll share more about shortly from a governance and transparency point of view.

I want to explicitly thank WildTeam, WildHub’s founding charity, for supporting the community and this transition, as well as Zapnito, who continue to support us by providing the platform itself.

I’m also grateful to the community members who help hold the space — keeping conversations, our WildHub socials, peer support, and shared learning going. WildHub remains a member-led community, shaped by the people who show up and contribute.

For me, this moment is about continuity: making sure WildHub can remain a steady, supportive place for connection and learning, now and into the future.
