Mr Ulrich WUIBE
I'm a bilingual (Fr,En) cameroonian from Cameroon, where I serve as science secondary school teacher with 8 years of experience and work in biodiversity conservation, environmental education, and sustainable land management. My academic background includes a Master’s in Biology-Environmental Science and currently pursuing a PhD in zoology-conservation at University of Yaounde 1, with a strong focus on terrestrial ecology and the role of soil invertebrates in ecosystem functioning.
I recently led a Rufford Foundation–funded project titled: “On the poorly-known millipedes from the protected Bouda Ndjida National Park (Northern Cameroon) with implications for conservation”, which focused on developing educational materials on soil invertebrates for rural schools and promoting conservation awareness in local communities and Bouba Ndjida national Park. This experience strengthened my skills in project management, field research, stakeholder engagement, curriculum development, and community-based conservation.
My key interests include:
-Soil biodiversity and ecosystem health
-Environmental education and community engagement
-Dryland ecology & land degradation monitoring
-Invertebrate conservation (especially millipedes!)
-Integrating science into policy and rural development
I joined WildHub because I believe in the power of collaboration and shared learning. I am excited to:
* Connect with peers working on innovative conservation solutions,
* Learn from your experiences in project design, communication, and leadership,
* And share insights from my work in Cameroon’s ecological landscapes.
I look forward to contributing actively to discussions, learning from the wealth of knowledge here, and building meaningful collaborations for future conservation initiatives.
Please feel free to connect with me I'd be happy to exchange ideas or explore opportunities to collaborate.
Thank you for welcoming me into this great community! 🌍
