Hello Everyone! I've been volunteering (remotely) with a new UK-based conservation charity called Plover Rovers, who specialise in marine and coastal education. We are in the process of planning our flagship programme called Talking the Coast, in which we will be running innovative science education events along the entirety of the English coast. Right now, we are specifically looking for volunteers to act as Local Engagement Officers for multiple coastal regions around the UK. This role involves procuring and engaging local partners and planning events. No previous experience in event planning or partner relations is required, just a passion for marine conservation and an internet connection. This opportunity is a remote position, so we are taking volunteers from anywhere in the world!

If anyone is interested in becoming a volunteer, you can email Scott, the director of Plover Rovers, at plover.rovers@gmail.com to chat about current opportunities. If you're just curious and have some more questions about the "vibe" of the charity or what I do as a Local Engagement Officer, you can always email me at aurora.hood@plover-rovers.org.uk. For general snooping, check out www.plover-rovers.com or find us on all the major social media sites.

Aurora Hood

Local Engagement Officer, Plover Rovers

I have an MSc in Applied Ecology and Conservation from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK. I am originally from the United States but now live in Northeast Wales with my partner. Though currently in a volunteer position, I am actively looking for work in the field of Conservation Ecology.
