About WildTeam UK

WildTeam UK (www.wildteam.org.uk) is a registered UK charity. At WildTeam we believe every conservationist should have access to the skills, knowledge, and network they need to progress their career and ultimately make a meaningful difference to our natural world, no matter who they are and where they are from.

Job description

We are seeking an outgoing conservationist to join our small and dynamic team as a WildLearning Training Specialist. This position will be responsible for delivering, administering and helping to design online training courses in our existing best practices such as:

  • Project Management for Wildlife Conservation
  • Project Planning for Wildlife Conservation
  • Monitoring and Evaluation for Wildlife Conservation
  • Stakeholder Engagement for Wildlife Conservation
  • Grant Writing for Wildlife Conservation.

The successful candidate will receive on the job training so that they are able to deliver training in some of these subjects. More information on our best practices and training courses can be found on our website. The work will be done remotely, from home to deliver our online training courses and facilitate the online live group sessions (with the need for a strong internet connection), but there may be the need for some UK travel to attend annual meetings.

This position will suit someone with a graduate degree in a wildlife conservation-related subject and, ideally, someone with at least 1-2 years work experience in wildlife conservation. Experience of delivering training to adults is also highly desirable (especially online). Our live sessions are very interactive, therefore, require a trainer who is confident, friendly, enjoys facilitation and is able to create a welcoming learning atmosphere. Please note due to the timings of our live sessions, the role requires a longer day with evening work at least once a week (10am-7.30pm with a longer break at lunch time or time off in lieu). The responsibilities of the position, along with the experience and skills needed, are detailed in Table 1 of the job description.

The most important qualities we look for in all our employees are a positive attitude, a “one team” approach, and a strong personal motivation for wildlife conservation. We also only select those that take responsibility for their work, can solve complex problems, have a fearless attitude, and are ready for a challenge. A full description of WildTeam values and attitudes are provided in Table 2 of the job description. Please note this position is available as full-time or part-time and is maternity cover.
