I'm thrilled to be a part of WildHub as I embark on an exciting journey in the world of wildlife conservation project management. With a deep passion for preserving our planet's precious biodiversity. Let's work together to make a positive impact on wildlife and their habitats!"
I hold an MSc in Conservation Biology from the University of Cape Town, under the FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology. My project was about quantifying raptor abundance trends in Botswana, through raptor road surveys. I drove 26000 km observing and recording any raptors, perching or flying. This infused my passion for nature and wildlife protection and conservation, as I gained experience in handling live birds such as vultures, eagles etc. My interests include bird ringing, outdoor camping, hiking, and going out for picnics. I am currently a researcher for a Honeyguide-Human mutualism investigation project in northern Botswana. I am also training to become a qualified bird ringer.

I have around 161 publications, including many scientific articles in journals, books and book chapters. I am a Biologist from the Federal University of São Carlos-USFCar (1987), I have a Master's degree in Ecology from the State University of Campinas-UNICAMP (1992), a PhD in Ecology and Natural Resources from UFSCAR (1997) and Post-doctorate from UNICAMP/FAPESP (1998 ). I am a member of the Brazilian Society of Primatology-SBPr, having been president of SBPr, in the 2009-2011 administration. I am also a member of the Brazilian Society of Zoology/SBZ and participating in the board of directors, in the 2000-2002, 2002-2004, 2004-2006, 2006-2008, 2008-2010 and 2010-2012 administrations. Furthermore, I am also a member of the Brazilian Society for the Study of Chiropterans-SBEQ and the Brazilian Society of Mastozoology-SBMz. I am currently a professor in the following Graduate Programs: PG Zoology (https://www.prppg.ufpr.br/site/ppgzoo/en/) and PG Ecology and Conservation (https://www.prppg.ufpr.br/site/ppgecologia/en/) at UFPR. I have experience and great interest in the areas of Zoology and Ecology, with an emphasis on Conservation of Animal Species, Biodiversity, Animal Behavior, Natural History, Ecology, Fauna Inventories and Monitoring. I have worked on research in the areas of Mastozoology and Primatology, especially with the following animal groups, bats, carnivores, primates, in the themes of biology, ecology and conservation, but also with other neotropical wildlife species, especially if they are endangered species.
