I am a Master's student at the University of Liverpool, UK. The course I have chosen for my masters is environmental sciences. I am really keen on understanding the various concepts and strategies that revolve around conservation. I also look forward to building a career along the same field. The wildhub community will certainly prove helpful in working towards my passion. I am a conservation professional and TM at Finima Nature Park, Nigeria. I focus on biodiversity protection, community engagement, and building sustainable systems to support long-term conservation outcomes. I have extensive hands-on experience in species monitoring, habitat management, and environmental education. I lead initiatives such as biodiversity assessments, staff training, and capacity building, while also mentoring young people and teaching biology. My work is driven by a commitment to bridge the gap between science and local communities, ensuring conservation efforts benefit both people and nature.

I have been working in the conservation sector since the mid-1990s, largely based in the UK and working for international NGOs. I began as a grant fundraiser and moved into programme management, including working with a range of partnerships/coalitions. I am also a technical writer and I have worked on various projects from high-level reports to blogs. I have an MSc from the Durrell Institute of Conservation Ecology at the University of Kent (UK). I currently work for ANIMONDIAL - a travel consultancy advising on Nature Positive tourism and other aspects of animal and nature protection in the travel industry; I manage our Animal Protection Network of on-the-ground conservation projects.

I have been a biology teacher for the past eight years and I am transitioning from teaching to the Ecology and Conservation field. 

Am a passionate, transparent person who wishes to see wildlife and humans thrive together in harmony. I graduated from the Department of Wildlife Science, University of Juba in South Sudan. Am interested in networking with people from different backgrounds and experiences, learning necessary skills needed to contribute significantly to conserving wildlife, sharing ideas. I voluntered with South Sudan Wildlife Society as a conservation education officer from 2019 to 2020, from 2021 until today, am volunteering as a Program Coordinator.

Uchenna is a Chartered Environmentalist, University Lecturer and on secondment to IFAD-funded LivelihoodImprovement Family Enterprises – Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) Project as Abia State Project Coordinator, a board oftrustee-member of Future Generation University, USA; Chairman - Abia State Chapter of Nigerian Environmental Society (NES); with a doctoral degree in environmental forest ecology. He has over 20 peer-reviewed academic publications, and an international development professional with over 22 years and hasworked at least once in each Nigerian state as an Independent Development Consultant. Also, he hasprovided development consultancy services in India, Nepal, United States of America, Rwanda, Cameroon,United Kingdom and Namibia. Recently, he participated as the Nigerian representative in a-global research titled ‘Developing indicators of Peace’,  piloted by Future Generations University in collaboration with the United States Institute of Peace. Uchenna’s skills include an in-depth understanding of community working systems in developing countries;linking policy analysis and emerging issues to plans; understanding of pro-poor and gender issues indevelopment, an excellent team player, good interpersonal, report writing and communication skills.

I'm an agronomist by trade. I have done phytotechnics and I have some experience in entomology. Currently my passion for wild animals has led me to do a Master's degree in Planning and Management of Protected Areas. I'm particularly interested in spatial remote sensing and the restoration of wildlife habitats.
