I'm an interdisciplinary environmental natural and social scientist and ecosystems and biodiversity conservation and restoration specialist with more than 20 years practical experience in Africa,  Europe, South America and Oceania. My academic background is BSc Hons Aquatic Sciences (Marine & Freshwater Fisheries Conservation and Management); MSc Agroforestry, Silviculture and Forest Management) and PhD in Environmental Sustainability (Wetlands Ecosystems Conservation and Restoration Policies and Sustainable Management). I've working knowledge in academia,  non governmental organisations and government departments in the UK and Africa. I've skills in partnership development,  funding management and stakeholders engagement. 

As a promoter of culture and diversity, Gerald Nkusi is a travel ecopreneur with Adventure Afrika and founder of Home of Kigezi (a Museum of Living Culture and Natural History), Nkunga Eco Village, and the Food Forest Africa movement. His roots and home are in Kisoro, a part of the Kigezi region in Uganda. Starting as a waiter trading long nights of work for education at the famous Makerere University 2006 and a US Exchange Alumni-IVLP 2017, he has transformed into a local and global actor in the cultural heritage and conservation space. Gerald's Food Forest Africa movement is revolutionizing the use of small and waste spaces for food, health, education and environment to help counter food insecurity, poor nutrition, and the degradation of natural resources. 

My name is Nyiramugisha Jennifer from Kisoro a South western part of Uganda within the Virunga trans-boundaries with Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. I offer professional services in the hospitality industry and currently based at Travellers Hotel one of the Oldest and most Celebrated Historical Eco conscious facility within the Gorilla neighbourhoods of Uganda and Rwanda.  I also serve on a governing team that supports all the stakeholders within the Kigezi Tourism Association Umbrella Network. Hello, My name is Sundisi Laxmi Hakim from Kampala , Uganda. I am a student of tourism and hospitaly management at Makerere University. I am so excited to be part of the WildHub community.I really hope to learn alot.

I hold an MSc in Conservation Biology from the University of Cape Town, under the FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology. My project was about quantifying raptor abundance trends in Botswana, through raptor road surveys. I drove 26000 km observing and recording any raptors, perching or flying. This infused my passion for nature and wildlife protection and conservation, as I gained experience in handling live birds such as vultures, eagles etc. My interests include bird ringing, outdoor camping, hiking, and going out for picnics. I am currently a researcher for a Honeyguide-Human mutualism investigation project in northern Botswana. I am also training to become a qualified bird ringer.

Am an enthusiastic conservation Biologist at early stage of my career. I have been involved in social-ecology including conservation education campaign targeted at young kids over the years as a resulting of working with Better Earth Foundation. I have conducted scientific research around human utilization of wildlife resources around conflict environment.  In addition, i have passion for ornithology, plant and animal interaction as well as vegetation assessment. Am a member of Jos Bird club, Nigeria bird Atlas project (NiBAP),  as well as alumni of APLORI and TBA scientific writing and publication.

Iyanuoluwa Moyinoluwa Shittu is a passionate conservation educationist dedicated to teaching conservation education and getting more people to join in biodiversity conservation. With over two years of work experience in field conservation, Iyanuoluwa is known for her community services and outreach to interior communities. She was popularly known as the “yam girl” after being gifted 80 tubers of yam for crowdfunding and constructing a borehole for a community where she served, Born and raised in Nigeria, Iyanuoluwa developed a fascination for the Sustainable Development Goals during her days at the university. This early curiosity blossomed into a lifelong commitment to biodiversity conservation and raising the next generation of African conservationists (more women this time). She studied for her Masters in Conservation Leadership at the University of Cambridge. Outside of work, Iyanuoluwa enjoys surfing the internet and playing percussion musical instruments, finding inspiration in music and the beauty of nature. Iyanuoluwa is deeply committed to raising awareness for conserving our remaining forests and the wildlife inhabiting them, striving to make a meaningful impact in Nigeria and Africa.

I am an environmentalist with five years of experience in biodiversity conservation and wildlife management. The pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology marked a monumental step in shaping my professional journey in conservation. In 2019, I co-founded Kang4Nature, a volunteer youth group dedicated to executing environmental restoration projects in Nairobi, Kenya. This initiative showcased my leadership potential and eventually led me to assume the role of Programs Manager at CHD Conservation Kenya a grassroots organization committed to fostering public engagement in conservation through education and awareness programs, citizen research, and sustainable enterprise development. In this capacity, I have refined my skills in various areas, including curriculum development for youth engagement in conservation, promoting diversity and inclusion of indigenous women and girls in rangelands, stakeholder engagement, partnership cultivation, and fundraising. My commitment to leadership growth led me to participate in the Women in Conservation Leadership fellowship offered by the Centre for Protected Area Management at Colorado State University and the Project Management in Global Health program offered by the University of Washington. These experiences, along with my recent accomplishment of attaining a Master of Philosophy in Conservation Leadership from the University of Cambridge, have contributed significantly to my skill set. While studying at the University of Cambridge, I collaborated with Fauna & Flora, an international conservation organization. My role involved developing guiding recommendations to promote gender-transformative approaches within the conservation sector. Additionally, I provided consulting services to UNEP-WCMC, where I focused on devising innovative strategies to turning complex National Ecosystem Assessment (NEA) reports into impactful Summary for Policy Markers (SPMs). I am Marjan Maria, a young and ambitious wildlife biologist also a proud mom to a baby girl from Bangladesh. I am passionate about conserving the biodiversity of my country and protecting its endangered species. I am particularly interested in the behavioral ecology of primates and herpetofauna. I have researched the Bengal slow loris, Phayre's langur, hoolock gibbon, and other endangered species in Bangladesh. I have also worked on developing conservation strategies for these species. I am also interested in the impacts of road infrastructure on wildlife. I am currently working on a project to study roadkill in primates and other animals in Bangladesh. I believe that wildlife conservation is essential for our planet's health and future generations' well-being. I am committed to working to protect the biodiversity of Bangladesh and to ensure that its wildlife can thrive for generations to come. I am eager to learn and grow. Lead in world of true conservation and promotion of humanity .Stephen has 17 yrs experience of managing successful conservation projects in Kenya's Tsavo conservation Area. Coordinating the implementation of community based conservation projects engaging the marginalized communities living alongside the northern border of Tsavo National Park to promote economic resilience, through establishment of Community Banks and enhancement of gender equitable and sustainable livelihoods and foster human wildlife coexistence through community engagements as conservation champions. Stephen understands the behaviors and values required for conservation success and the importance of partnership and collaboration with like-minded stakeholders to synergize conservation efforts . His key competencies include Project management, Species conservation, Law enforcement, conservation education and social inclusion.

I am Additional Commissioner from Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) with vast experience of law enforcement especially in tackling transnational smuggling  including willdife trafficking. Also, as an expert I have been conducting sessions on various aspects of wildlife crimes and its convergence with other serious crimes, legal and enforcement framework to counter it, wildlife cyber crime, OSINT for combating wildlife crime, combating money laundering associated with wildlife crime, CITES, role of Customs in tackling the menace of wildlife crime, Digital Forensics etc. for forest, police, customs and other enforcement agencies' officials. I have also been invited as an expert by UNODC ROSA to train the law enforcement officials of Sri Lanka on combating wildlife cyber crimes.

With a Master’s Degree in Wildlife Conservation and nearly 9 years of experience in India’s biodiversity conservation sector, my professional journey has been enriching and diverse. Having worked at both field and administrative levels, I have been fortunate to gain invaluable experiences that continue to shape my passion for wildlife conservation. I remain eager to learn, adapt, and contribute to this vital field. As a field wildlife veterinarian, I had the privilege of managing and coordinating operations at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center in Northeast India. This hands-on role allowed me to oversee the well-being of rescued wild animals, ensuring their proper care and rehabilitation. Later, I worked on a project focused on emergency response during natural disasters, collaborating with multiple teams under challenging conditions. My last field role involved working alongside a primary response team to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts in forest-fringe areas of North India. Outside of my formal roles, I actively volunteered in wildlife rescues, biodiversity surveys, and provided veterinary assistance, whenever possible. Currently, as a Projects Manager at a leading Wildlife Conservation Charity in India, I have transitioned into a strategic and administrative role. I oversee project planning, fundraising, and resource management. Additionally, I contribute to organizational operations, including financial planning and compliance. Bridging the gap between on-ground conservation efforts and strategic project management allows me to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams - which is always a great experince! My passion remains deeply rooted in protecting India’s rich and diverse ecosystems, and I am committed to making a meaningful impact in this field.
