I have been engaging as a conservationist and ecologist working as a Biodiversity and Ecosystem Analyst. I am teaching and mentoring students in ecology and wildlife conservation in Higher education together with conducting ecological research and implementing conservation strategies for threatened species and habitats. I am very passionate about promoting environmental sustainability. I enjoy health and fitness, exploring nature, gardening, and conservation efforts.

Je suis Capitaine Alassane Gueye, Ingénieur des Eaux et Forêts, Chasses, Adjoint à l’Inspecteur du service Régional des Eaux et Forêts de Kédougou. Je suis diplômé de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Agriculture(ENSA) de Thiès avec comme spécialité Foresterie et Environnement. Aprés cinq année en service à Kédougou(Senegal) en qualité d'adjoint à l'inspecteur régional des Eaux et Forêts, Chasses, je suis récemment  affecté dans la région de Kaolack pour poursuivre ma mission dans l'administration forestiére. Fort de plusieurs années d’expérience dans la région de Kédougou en suivi-évaluation, en études d’impact environnemental et en gestion des ressources naturelles, je suis convaincu que mon expertise peut contribuer efficacement aux objectifs environnementaux et sociaux de votre entreprise. Mon parcours m’a permis de développer une expertise approfondie en gestion environnementale, en suivi des écosystèmes, ainsi qu’en évaluation des impacts des projets miniers sur l’environnement et les communautés locales. J’ai notamment travaillé sur des projets de reboisement, de suivi des mangroves et de gestion intégrée des zones humides, en lien avec les principes du développement durable et des normes internationales. Mon expérience en suivi-évaluation me confère une capacité analytique et méthodologique avérée, essentielle pour assurer un suivi rigoureux des indicateurs de performance environnementale et sociale. Je maîtrise les outils de cartographie SIG et de télédétection, indispensables pour l’évaluation et le suivi des transformations du paysage dans un contexte d’exploitation minière.  Motivé, rigoureux et doté d’un excellent esprit d’équipe, je suis prêt à m’investir pleinement dans vos projets et à relever les défis environnementaux liés à vos activités. Passioné par le developpement durable, je cherche à contribuer à des projets à fort impact socio-économiques et environnentaux.

Md. Sabbir Ahammed is an enthusiastic post-graduate student with an unwavering passion for wildlife conservation and a specific focus on herpetofauna research. He was born and raised in a small village surrounded by nature, where he developed a deep connection with the environment from a young age. His fascination with reptiles and amphibians began early in childhood, fostering a lifelong passion for these often misunderstood creatures, which led him to pursue a degree in Zoology at the Jagannath University, Dhaka 1100, Bangladesh. Sabbir has actively shaped his academic journey to specialize in herpetofauna research. Eager to contribute to the understanding and conservation of reptiles and amphibians, he is engaged in various research projects related to his chosen field. His determination led him to work alongside esteemed herpetologists, studying the behavior, ecology, and conservation needs of diverse amphibian and reptile species. As a result, he completed both of his undergraduate term papers on herpetofauna. Sabbir's commitment to wildlife conservation extends beyond the classroom and laboratory. Driven by a sense of responsibility for the Earth's ecosystems, Sabbir became involved in various campus organizations dedicated to environmental causes, including the Nature Study and Conservation Club (NSCC), Department of Zoology, Jagannath University. He plays a key role in organizing awareness campaigns, seminars, and educational workshops to inspire his peers to participate actively in conservation efforts. By fostering a sense of understanding and appreciation, he strives to bridge the gap between humans and these essential components of ecosystems. Apart from working on various research projects on different wildlife as a volunteer and research assistant, he is a grantee of The Explorers Club (awarded the Rising Explorer Club grant in 2023 and 2024). Currently, he is the principal investigator of a project focused on lizard diversity and their conservation. Driven by a desire to share his knowledge, Sabbir actively maintains a social media presence dedicated to herpetofauna and other wildlife conservation. His engaging content not only educates the public but also inspires others to join the cause and protect biodiversity. As he advances in his undergraduate studies, his goal is to contribute meaningful research that informs conservation strategies for herpetofauna. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for preserving biodiversity, he envisions a future where reptiles and amphibians are respected and actively safeguarded for upcoming generations.

I am a passionate communicator and researcher with an extensive background in the environmental humanities and social sciences, dedicated to exploring and fostering connections between people and nature. Based between Sweden and the UK, I work in academia as a researcher and lecturer, teaching courses in environmental law, historical ecology, and disaster risk management. I actively contribute to non-profit organisations promoting conservation and animal welfare. I work with Faunalytics, translating complex research into accessible insights for evidence-based advocacy; write feature articles for Ubuntu Magazine spotlighting conservation initiatives; and serve as Community Advocates Coordinator at WildHub, driving strategic communications and leading initiatives that connect and empower conservation practitioners worldwide. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking forest trails with my dog or enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Eddy Nnanga est un ingénieur halieutique spécialisé dans la gestion et la gouvernance des Aires Marines Protégées (AMP) pour la conservation de la biodiversité marine. Avec 8 ans d'expérience, il a occupé des postes clés à l'African Marine Mammal Conservation Organisation (AMMCO) et coordonne actuellement des projets liés à la gestion de la Réserve de Faune du Lac Ossa et du Parc Marin Manyangue Na Elombo Campo. Son travail vise à concilier la conservation marine avec les intérêts des communautés locales riveraines. Eddy Nnanga possède une expertise dans la gestion des ressources marines le long de la côte camerounaise. Ses missions de caractérisation du modèle de gouvernance et d'évaluation de l'efficacité de gestion des aires marines protégées ont permis de mettre en lumière la diversité biologique des espèces aquatiques, les habitats benthiques et les zones de conflits entre la pêche artisanale et industrielle. En outre, ses activités de sensibilisation et de développement d'alternatives économiques pour les communautés côtières ont renforcé ses liens avec la population locale. Ses compétences se concentrent sur l'évaluation de la gestion des aires marines protégées, ainsi que sur l'élaboration de plans d'aménagement et de gestion.

"I'm Vincent Xaler Lemayian, a conservationist with a strong background in biodiversity protection. I studied journalism but later developed a passion for protecting natural ecosystems. For the last 8 years, I have been working at The Wildlife Foundation as a conservancy manager at the Naretunoi community conservancy.  Over the years, I've worked on habitat restoration, wildlife monitoring and biodiversity assessment. Currently, I'm involved in a giraffe identification program to help conserve the iconic Maasai giraffe in the Nairobi National Park ecosystem. My goal is to continue making a positive impact by working with schools to improve on conservation education.

As a dedicated ecologist, waste manager, and circular economy advocate, I'm driven to catalyze positive change in biodiversity preservation and climate crisis mitigation. With expertise spanning conservation science and circular economy practices, I recognize their integral role in addressing environmental degradation and fostering sustainable peace. The BioversNG Workshop empowered me with invaluable insights and skills over six transformative weeks, enabling me to contribute more effectively to protecting Nigeria's rich biodiversity. Now, as the Operations Room Assistant with WCS Nigeria at Yankari Game Reserve, I'm excited to leverage this knowledge and experience in a practical and impactful way. Combining hands-on fieldwork experience with ecological principles and waste management strategies, I champion climate action and promote peace initiatives. As co-founder of the Ecology Students Forum at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, I facilitate meaningful discussions advancing ecological knowledge and exploring ways to leverage insights for broader climate resilience and peace-building endeavors. My goal is to bridge the gap between conservation, circular economy practices, climate action, and peace advocacy by fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and promoting dialogue that acknowledges the interconnectedness of environmental sustainability, peace, and global well-being. In my new role with WCS Nigeria, I'm committed to furthering these objectives and contributing to the vital mission of wildlife conservation.

I am an experienced Research Scientist- Botanist with a proven track record of project management and successful floristic surveys. I am competent in preparing and executing project plans to ensure that every opportunity to promote the scientific contribution and preservation and conservation of Biodiversity. I looking at combining my knowledge in botany to understand wildlife conservation through their interactions and stakeholder engagement in managing and conserving the wildlife in Kenya and globaly

I am a passionate conservation practitioner, originally from Fiji.  I am a trained coral reef ecologist with practical knowledge and experience in applied fisheries, resources management, stakeholder engagement, training and outreach, social sciences, gender, disability and social inclusion and coral reef conservation. I have worked for over a decade in various projects and with stakeholders in the Pacific. More recently, I switched jobs to work more on focused coral reef research and have started to engage more with international stakeholders in Southeast Asia. The new job also allowed me to engage more closely with projects that focus on Indigenous communities and local people in Australia and the Pacific region.  

I am a dedicated project coordinator with a strong background in skill development and livelihood projects, currently based in Jharkhand, India. With a Master's degree in social work, I have spent several years working in various community-focused initiatives, aiming to uplift and empower individuals and communities. However, my true passion lies in the wild, and I have an ardent desire to embark on a career dedicated to wildlife conservation. At 36 years of age, I am eagerly looking forward to combining my skills and experience with my love for the natural world, to make a meaningful contribution to wildlife preservation and protection.
