Hello! I'm Katie and I'm a WildLearning Specialist with WildTeam. I help to deliver a number of workshops with WildTeam, including the Project Management for Wildlife Conservation course. I love meeting course participants from all over the world, and learning about the amazing projects that they are working on or would like to in the future.
I am also working as a postdoctoral researcher at Bournemouth University, as a continuation of my PhD project which focussed on African elephant conservation. I've been lucky enough to travel to lots of places for my work and engage with a range of stakeholders. I also love science communication which has lead me to meet and work with lots of amazing people through public engagement, outreach events and social media.

Wildlife Conservation masters student
I am currently a student in Ecological Surveying, at the Scottish Rural College. This is a part-career change for me, as I am semi-retired from my job as a Senior Research Data Specialist in the Digital Curation Centre, University of Edinburgh. My professional background is in Information Science, and for the last 15 years that has meant delivering applied research, advice, training and consultancy in the area of data management. I am taking a step back from managing projects in that area and, as it is a long time since I had any project management training, I aim to refresh my knowledge so I can better contribute to projects in a conservation setting. I hope in the near future to apply these skills to help monitor how development projects are impacting on biodiversity.

Passionate about the world, I consider myself a global citizen. Born in Belgium, I have lived 10 years in South Africa, 22 years in France, 2 in New Zealand, and 6 in Switzerland. I have also had the privilege to work and travel for 18 months in Zambia. I speak English, French and German. Altruistic and empathetic, I live accordingly to the most beautiful word in the world “Ahimsa” (respect for all living things and no violence towards others). Defending animal and human rights, reducing our impact on the environment and protecting the beautiful place we live in everyday are part of my core values.
Hi everyone,
I am Dzarina from Papua New Guinea. I am passionate about biodiversity/wildlife conservation and how indigenous knowledge can help/assist conservation practices today.
A bilingual expert on wildlife trade with an MSc. in Conservation and International Wildlife Trade from the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE), University of Kent, United Kingdom, and over five years’ experience working with International conservation NGOs in Cameroon. Passionate, target-driven and effective. An experienced wildlife conservation biologist looking to build on and expand current skills in a challenging role.
I have worked/volunteered for several conservation organizations across Canada focused on different species, including freshwater turtles, birds, terrestrial and marine mammals. I have cherished every learning opportunity, connection, and opportunity to contribute I have been able to have and I wish to further my career in the field in order to have more to offer to our beautiful wildlife and the amazing teams of people that work to provide them with medical care and conservation efforts to aid their success in the wild.
Animal behaviour, welfare, and cognition scientist. MPhil studying genetic effect on attention bias in rhesus macaque and PhD studying effect of safari tourism on wild African elephants. Currently working with APOPO, training African giant pouched rats for scent detection of illegally trafficked wildlife in shipping containers.
I am working on a project called Nextdoor Nature, which aims to give communities the tools and skills that they need to take action for nature. I am at the beginning of my career in conservation, and I hope to build a career in conservation project management.
