Mr. Paudel currently serves as a senior program manager at Bird Conservation Nepal. He has over fourteen years of experience in bird and biodiversity conservation, fundraising, project planning and implementation, and engaging with local communities to safeguard threatened bird species.
I founded West African Conservation Network or WACN, and we signed a 31 year MOU with the Nigeria National Park Service on the 27th of October 2023 to co-manage the Kainji Lake National Park in Nigeria.
Kainji has had 65 species of mammals documented including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hippos, among numerous other species.
Ibrahim is a passionate conservationist dedicated to protecting endangered species and their habitats. With a focus on the unique ecosystems of Somalia, he combines extensive field research with a deep understanding of local ecological practices. Holding a Master of Science in Forest and Nature Conservation from Wageningen University, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development, Ibrahim blends academic knowledge with practical experience.
For over a decade, he has worked in the non-profit biodiversity conservation sector, collaborating with international NGOs and UN agencies to drive impactful initiatives. His research includes in-depth analyses of frankincense harvesting regions in Somalia, where he has authored numerous papers on site management and conservation strategies. Ibrahim is committed to promoting sustainable practices that foster harmonious coexistence between communities and wildlife, and he aspires to further his impact through a PhD in the near future.

His roots and home are in Kisoro, a part of the Kigezi region in Uganda. Starting as a waiter trading long nights of work for education at the famous Makerere University 2006 and a US Exchange Alumni-IVLP 2017, he has transformed into a local and global actor in the cultural heritage and conservation space. Gerald's Food Forest Africa movement is revolutionizing the use of small and waste spaces for food, health, education and environment to help counter food insecurity, poor nutrition, and the degradation of natural resources.

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the biology department at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I am a passionate conservation biologist and educator. My work focuses on fostering community participation and inclusiveness in conservation efforts. With a deep love for nature and a commitment to research and fieldwork, I specialize in conducting behavioural studies that contribute to understanding the intricate relationships between biodiversity and their environments. My research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including plant and animal interactions, urban birds, land use changes, and recently an interest in the human dimension of conservation. My commitment extends beyond research and academic responsibilities, as I find fulfilment in coaching and mentoring youth, advocating for access, diversity, equity and inclusion in academia and conservation.
