About Liz Hughes

I have a BSc in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. I currently run my own Business in Animal Care. My passion is Conservation, and I have just applied to complete my MSc in Primate Conservation. I am currently volunteering for the Stepping Stones Project at The National Trust. At 53 years young, I am just beginning my conservation journey! I would love to be involved with a rewilding project, but I would happily contribute to any conservation efforts.

A warm welcome to WildHub, Liz! Wonderful to have you join us and thank you for sharing about your background. Where did you do your MSc in Primate Conservation if I may ask?

Perhaps of interest to you could be our WildHub Community Advocate role here, which can be a great experience for networking as well as shaping and supporting the conversations in our global community.

Alternatively, we have our Conservation Catalyst programme here, which can be a great experience for networking as well as sharing other people’s learnings.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Thirza,

Thank you.

I have not completed my MSc in Primate Conservation, but I have applied to Oxford Brookes University and am awaiting a reply. I will take a look at the links you posted in your message.

Thanks,

Liz.

Welcome to the WildHub Community, Liz!

It’s fantastic to see someone with such a diverse background and a strong passion for conservation joining us. Your journey from running an animal care business to pursuing an MSc in Primate Conservation is truly inspiring.

What specific aspects of rewilding or other conservation projects are you most interested in getting involved with?

We’re excited to connect with you and support your conservation efforts

Hi Amanda,

Thank you for your lovely message.

I have to be honest. The more I learn about wildlife conservation, the more I want to get involved. I am fascinated by the reintroduction of species that change the ecology and habitat. I would also love to work with primate or endangered species conservation, increasing wild populations, an in-situ breeding programme, or habitat restoration.

I am also looking forward to connecting and learning from everyone.
