I’m Asmita Ranapaheli, a passionate turtle researcher with a Master’s degree in Ecology and Environment from Tribhuvan University. My work is driven by a belief that conservation thrives on collaboration. By uniting diverse voices and expertise, we can create innovative, sustainable solutions to protect habitats, empower communities, and safeguard endangered species. In addition to my research, I run Respite, a YouTube channel where I bring the wonders of wildlife, plants, and zoology to a wider audience. Through captivating and accessible content, I aim to inspire curiosity, foster a deeper connection with nature, and highlight the urgent need for biodiversity conservation in an increasingly fragile world. 

Madagascar Fauna and Flora Group (MFG), a conservation organisation operating in Toamasina, Madagascar and employing over 100 Malagasy staff. My task is focus on organising and conducting community workshops and capacity building within MFG’s target areas in Madagascar, conducting field and laboratory research using contemporary methods, techniques, and materials, in collaboration with international collaborators, coordinating community-led management of Asian toads (a pest species in Madagascar), coordinating and conducting data collection via community surveys and citizen science to quantify socio-economic impacts of Asian toads in Madagascar, Leading teams of volunteers to conduct field research and community outreach and Managing field data and drafting reports. 

I am an environmentalist with a diploma in Forestry and Wildlife, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Oceanography, specializing in aquatic ecosystem management. I began my career with the development association, Alternatives Durables pour le Développement (ADD), where I successfully led several environmental and agricultural projects over a span of five years. Recently, I have taken on a new role as a grant writer at Sekakoh Organization, where I continue to apply my expertise in advancing impactful environmental and biodiversity conservation initiatives.

Highly experienced in supporting policy and decision making through delivering data on marine species, coastal pollution, and water delivery on the local, state, and federal levels. Early in my career I took every opportunity I could to gain experience in marine mammal science from California to Quebec. These opportunities created strong connections eventually guiding me to researching plastic pollution while earning my masters degree. As I finished writing my thesis, I began working with NASA on projects using satellite imagery and big data to investigate drought, this experience immensely strengthened my project management, mapping, and analytical skills. Last year I ventured into conservation writing wanting to build on my science communication skills. I am a dedicated marine and freshwater biologist currently pursuing my PhD, focusing on wildlife conservation and sustainable fishing practices. My academic journey has been deeply rooted in understanding the complexities of marine ecosystems and the challenges they face. I completed my MSc with a thesis on the West African Manatee (T. Senegalensis), where I investigated the mechanisms of bycatch through different gillnet configurations. This study not only mimicked the daily fishing activities of local fishers but also provided valuable insights into the interactions between manatees and fishing gear. My findings revealed new species involved in bycatch, as well as the primary causes of fish damage, ultimately suggesting the best gillnet configurations to minimize bycatch. In my PhD program, I am expanding my research to identify and map bycatch sites along the coast of Cameroon. My current projects include analyzing various pollutants found in sharks and rays, understanding the effects of these pollutants on the health and genetics of these species, and determining their age to better comprehend their life cycles and conservation needs. I am passionate about reducing bycatch and promoting sustainable fishing practices. As part of my conservation activities, I will be training local fishermen on best releasesing practices, which involve techniques to safely release life bycatch back into the water, and educating them on how to effectively use GPS technology to monitor and manage their fishing activities. I believe that community engagement is crucial for successful conservation efforts. I invite community members and local stakeholders to join me in these important initiatives. About Me Hello everyone! I’m Dr Gilles Rolin Ananfack Kenfack, a passionate environmental advocate from Cameroon, dedicated to the sustainable management of our natural resources and the conservation of biodiversity. I hold a PhD in Integrated Management of Forest and Agroforestry Resources from the University of Dschang, where I also completed my Master’s in Natural Resource Management and Agroforestry. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, which laid the groundwork for my analytical approach to environmental issues. My Expertise With extensive experience in project management and community-driven initiatives, I specialize in integrated resource management, biodiversity conservation, and the restoration of degraded landscapes. As the founder and president of the Cameroonian Association for the Promotion of Bamboo, Environmental Protection, Nature Conservation, and Local Development (BambouCamer), I focus on promoting bamboo as a sustainable resource that can drive local development and enhance environmental conservation. My role as Director of Programs at the Community Association for Sustainable Development (CASuDev) involves coordinating various conservation and restoration projects, including efforts to protect the forest elephant population in the Campo Ma’an National Park and restoring degraded landscapes in Babadjou. I am also skilled in community mobilization, capacity building, technical report writing, and social and environmental impact assessments. Throughout my career, I have successfully collaborated with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities to create sustainable and equitable solutions to pressing environmental challenges. My Interests I am particularly interested in agroforestry, the application of agroecological practices, and leveraging the potential of bamboo for environmental and economic sustainability. I am committed to advancing environmental sustainability and empowering communities, ensuring that development initiatives are both ecologically sound and socially just. Formerly a homeschooling teacher in a remote game reserve, I now work across departments to spotlight untold stories, bridge cultures, and explore the emotional landscape of environmental work.

Raghavendra Pattar is a multifaceted professional who has successfully transitioned from a long career in IT to pursue his passion for wildlife and photography. As the Founder and CEO of Naturepix, he combines his skills as a writer, wildlife filmmaker, certified naturalist, and wildlife photographer to tell compelling stories about nature. With 19 years of experience in IT as a Head of Talent Acquisition, Raghavendra brings a unique blend of corporate expertise and creative vision to his current role. His work spans various specializations, including wildlife conservation, portrait photography, and macro photography. Raghavendra's dedication to his craft has earned him recognition as one of the top 35 photographers in Bangalore and the top 125 in India by the International Photography Club. Raghavendra's commitment to wildlife conservation is evident in his projects, such as the Melapura Blue Tailed Bee Eater Conservation Project for the Government of Karnataka. He is also an accomplished writer, having contributed articles to international and national magazines on migratory species and authored a book on the Birds of Mysore. I have been a Professional Wildlife Photographer / Film Maker & a Conservationist for the last 17 Yrs.  I have been studying migratory birds ( Blue Tailed Bee Eater & Bar Headed Goose ) and have published various articles in International Magazines.  I have recently completed Filming a documentary on Blue Tailed Bee Eater for the Government of Karnataka and the Department of Forest.  Our organization is more focused on the decline of Migratory Birds due to Environment and Climate Change in Mysore ( Karnataka )

I have just completed my BSc degree in Natural Resource Management (Wildlife & Ecotourism), from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, i also hold a Diploma in Environmental Management. i specialised in wildlife management, GIS and Remote sensing, Research,Biodiversity conservation, ornithology, ecosystem managment, watershed and wetland management, eco tourism planing, environmental education, population ecology and sustainable land mangement. Abubakar Siddiqu With a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, I have a comprehensive understanding of animal biology, behavior, and ecology. My academic journey has equipped me with a solid foundation in the principles of zoology, including evolutionary biology, environmental science, and animal physiology. I am passionate about wildlife conservation and the study of animal interactions within their ecosystems. My studies have involved hands-on laboratory work, field research, and data analysis, which have honed my skills in scientific inquiry and critical thinking. I am adept at using various research methodologies to explore biological phenomena and contribute to meaningful scientific discussions. As a proactive learner and dedicated researcher, I am keen to apply my knowledge and skills to real-world challenges in zoology and conservation. I am particularly interested in opportunities that allow me to contribute to wildlife preservation, environmental education, and further research in the field

I have a doctorate in wildlife sciences and forestry. My specialization has always been landscape and community ecology and I focussed on the guild of carnivores to understand the same in my PhD. I invested in ornithology to overcome stress and am very vocal about walking in the jungle in the company of birds for good mental health. Currently, I am handling a few projects under the PSP portfolio where I am looking into safeguards for linear infrastructure and also for the conservation of small cats. I love writing especially about nature, interdisciplinary connections of the same, and policy to practice.
