Carolyn Rosevelt, MSc (She/Her)

Seeking GIS, Sci Comm, or Field Research opportunities, formerly NASA

About Carolyn Rosevelt, MSc

Highly experienced in supporting policy and decision making through delivering data on marine species, coastal pollution, and water delivery on the local, state, and federal levels.

Early in my career I took every opportunity I could to gain experience in marine mammal science from California to Quebec. These opportunities created strong connections eventually guiding me to researching plastic pollution while earning my masters degree. As I finished writing my thesis, I began working with NASA on projects using satellite imagery and big data to investigate drought, this experience immensely strengthened my project management, mapping, and analytical skills. Last year I ventured into conservation writing wanting to build on my science communication skills. I would be happy to feature your project or career journey as a blog post within WildHub, so feel free to reach out to set up a short chat/interview.

There are various programs and organizations in the states that train scientists how to better communicate their findings. What tools do wildlife managers use when asked to speak to the media? Thanks @Arvind Kumar Chaurasia for sharing this article and information.

This event takes Sketch Your Conservation Project to the next level. Looks like fun!

Job well done @Temitope Rebecca Adelola and thanks for contributing to WildHub.

Thank you @Alan J. Hesse for posting this list of steps that people can take to connect on a professional level!

Thank you @Marrian Tendai Rwizi for interviewing WildHub member, @Brian Heppenstall on his insights about career, teaching, and the obstacles behind gaining experience. Your questions bring up such important points that still need to be addressed in conservation. I know I want to be apart of groups (organizations) that are improving equity and access. Well done!

Congratulations @Temitope Rebecca Adelola on your second "Lessons Learned" post. I appreciated learning about the WFC through the student experience. Thank you!
