I am the Executive Director of Fundación Proyecto Tití, a non-profit organization working in Colombia to secure a long-term future for the critically endangered cotton-top tamarins (Saguinus oedipus), small monkeys only found in the tropical forests of northern Colombia, severely threatened by deforestation and capture for the illegal pet trade. We focus our efforts on conducting field research, protecting, restoring and connecting forests, educating students, and providing income alternatives to local communities, to reduce the unsustainable use and exploitation of forest resources for subsistence, and thus support the conservation of this unique species and its forest home.
I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic and result driven programme and operational management professional with over 12 years’ of experience in development, climate change adaptation and environmental conservation sector. I possess proven expertise in designing, planning, and managing complex multi-phased projects; and mobilizing large grants and multi-site resources. I am adept at organizational management, institutional development, governance advocacy, behaviour change communication, community mobilization, and intellectual negotiation. I led teams of over 100 consultants, experts, specialists and multi-skilled staffs, and more than 400 volunteers. I supported in raising and managing approximately $14m for implementing USFWS, USAID, ZSL, IUCN, KFW and UKAID funded projects. My strength lies in motivating and developing people to step forward for positive changes towards achieving the desired outcomes. I consider myself as a highly organized, strategic, innovative and confident leader who takes on challenges as opportunities to ensure effective solutions.
