Hi there! I'm based in London (Irish citizen, from Galway). I studied Applied Marine and Freshwater Science and graduated in 2016. I worked in this field, took part in research surveys (oceanography and cetacean sightings) and did some volunteering in marine conservation. Since moving to London in 2018, my career shifted to corporate, start up, and small businesses, working as an Exec Assistant and Project Manager.  Conservation and Animal Behaviour and Welfare is still a big passion of mine and I want to immerse myself back in this line of work! In order to do this, I need to up-skill and become more educated with the current climate of Wildlife Conservation; What are the challenges being faced, what skills are required to tackle these and how can I use my current set of skills to move my career in this direction - this is what has led me to WildHub 🙂 I'm actively seeking employment in this industry and willing to start at entry level if required (e.g. apprenticeship) so if you do know of any opportunities, please get in touch, I'd love to talk more! 

I joined WildHub as part of my course "Project Planning for wildlife conservation". I am a career switcher interested in switching to a conservation career. My background is mostly in Synthetic and molecular Biology and biotechnology. I have a bachelor in Biology where I excelled in subjects like Zoology, ecology, and botanics. I have been an avid animals and plant lover for my whole life and I am approaching this field considering a switch in career. I am particularly into birds and bird conservation.

I am an Assistant Ranger at Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, I work in the south team covering the parks in Greater London.

A large part of my role is keeping track of ongoing projects (e.g. residentials, online workshops, training programmes, to name a few), which can become very complex. This course could be the best insight into how to effectively manage projects year-round, and provide me with suggestions and extensive resources. New teachings could also expand the work BTO Youth does and bring with it new project planning ideas. WildHub also sounds fantastic! My main passion lies with elephants, and I spent several summers in Sri Lanka's Uda Walawe NP for my PhD fieldwork (as well as in UK zoos, and using previous data from Amboseli, Kenya). I have an MSc in Wild Animal Biology and I facilitate/have taught at the Royal Vet College & the Uni of Salford. I recently started a new role as C.O.O. with Asian elephant conservation charity, Trunks & Leaves, where I am developing new skills & loving interacting with the communities we work with. I hope to use the training courses with Wild Team to strengthen my knowledge further and optimise my efficiency achieving Trunks & Leaves' mission - to facilitate evidence-based conservation of Asian elephants and their habitats through science, education, policy and advocacy.

A performance driven and dynamic professional with a total of five years’ experience in conservation of forest and marine ecosystems, project management, livelihoods, biodiversity data publishing and sustainable community development projects. A proven leader with well-honed competencies in delivering the required tasks and forging productive synergies with colleagues from cross-cultural backgrounds. When I am not working, I like to be in touch with nature either by the beach or in the forest. I also enjoy cooking.

Greetings, I'm Ussi Abuu, a prominent Conservation Catalyst within the WildHub community, stationed in the beautiful landscapes of Zanzibar, Tanzania. I proudly serve as the INDUSTRY 5.0 Ambassador in Tanzania, advocating for sustainable industrial practices, and I also hold the role of Tanzania Coordinator at the Global Sustainable Future Progress through Partnership network. My journey towards environmental and social progress has been rich and diverse. I previously contributed to the Tanzania Development Trust as a mapper, utilizing geographical data to support development initiatives. Additionally, my commitment to global betterment led me to join the United Nations Volunteers program in 2016, where I've continued to make a meaningful impact. Together, we can explore the vast realm of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they intertwine with my experiences and endeavors. I'm Liane, and I am a WildLearning Specialist at WildTeam! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! For the last few years, I've been working in Seychelles, focusing on island and marine conservation efforts, particularly coral restoration and turtle nesting monitoring. If you ask me questions about coral, be prepared for me to get very nerdy about it! Prior to that, I was managing a project in Northern Thailand, where I worked closely with a local community to set up ethical elephant experiences in their village. In my free time, I love running and hiking, and being anywhere in nature. I have also learnt to freedive in the last few years and enjoy doing that when possible. I'm really interested in talking to different people and learning from them and their unique experiences.
