My background is mainly in species conservation, education and capacity exchange. I researched mother-young interactions in gorillas and chimpanzees, in captivity and the wild. After that, I worked for three years in Indonesia, where I developed and implemented youth ambassador and community engagement programmes on local and regional scales. I co-founded WildHub, a community of nature conservation professionals, in 2020 and work as their Community Lead. I am furthermore on the Advisory Board of the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) at the University of Kent where I obtained my PhD on capacity development for conservation in 2022. 

I am an enthusiastic conservationist who as a teen wanted to go and live in the rainforest to learn how to live in harmony with the planet however I thought it would be better if I stayed in the west and spread consciousness, promoted awareness & educated others about sustainability, using natural organic products, living a green lifestyle, eating organically, using regenerative methods of agriculture and individually doing as little harm to the planet as possible. I worked in the healing complimentary medicine field initially, promoting natural medicine, and ran green events, green fairs and green festivals whilst being a single parent and living in a green community. Then I worked in the natural products industry and education. I am now 56 years old and recently started volunteer work in marine conservation and trained in leading others to connect with nature.  I feel that I need to learn new skills  so that I can run or contribute to working in conservation projects and encourage people to care for and protect wildlife by  finding ways to involve them.

I develop state-of-the-art models to advance applied and theoretical methods for ecology and environmental management. My research encompases a wide range of topics from big data analysis at both local and global scales to field and laboratory experiments on vertebrates and invertebrates in marine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems. I am particularly interested in understanding how organisms respond to changing climates and how their responses vary with time and space. I work at the interface of data science, climate change, macroecology, spatial modeling, uncertainty, and quantitative risk assessment to inform and guide the best scientific and management decision-making processes.

Hello! I'm Léa and I'm a WildLearning Specialist with WildTeam UK. I help create, design and deliver training courses. I love getting to know all the participants and learning from them :) Previously, I was working with BirdLife International on forest governance issues and in my previous life I worked in the development sector in the United States. Education-wise, I have studied economic development, international relations as well as tropical forestry in the past.  Hope to catch you in a WildHub social!

I'm a biodiversity consultant working mainly in the corporate space. I work with large companies to help them figure out their nature-related impacts, dependancies, risks and opportunities, then use this information to create biodiversity strategies. 

Hello! I'm Katie and I'm a WildLearning Specialist with WildTeam. I help to deliver a number of workshops with WildTeam, including the Project Management for Wildlife Conservation course. I love meeting course participants from all over the world, and learning about the amazing projects that they are working on or would like to in the future.  I am also working as a postdoctoral researcher at Bournemouth University, as a continuation of my PhD project which focussed on African elephant conservation. I've been lucky enough to travel to lots of places for my work and engage with a range of stakeholders. I help run a UK charity that builds the capacity of conservationists to plan, implement, monitor, and report on their work. I also have a fair bit of experience in tiger and sea turtle conservation.
