My background is mainly in species conservation, education and capacity exchange. I researched mother-young interactions in gorillas and chimpanzees, in captivity and the wild. After that, I worked for three years in Indonesia, where I developed and implemented youth ambassador and community engagement programmes on local and regional scales. I co-founded WildHub, a community of nature conservation professionals, in 2020 and work as their Community Lead. I am furthermore on the Advisory Board of the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) at the University of Kent where I obtained my PhD on capacity development for conservation in 2022.

So i am currently an undergrad studying Environmental Studies with The Open University and will graduate this year. I also voulnteer with The Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Natural England, local environmental groups and take part in Citizen Science projects throughout the year. Have also volunteered with The Butterfly Conservation Trust and Bat Conservation Trust. My main interests are in Conservation and Wildlife.

Hello! I'm Katie and I'm a WildLearning Specialist with WildTeam. I help to deliver a number of workshops with WildTeam, including the Project Management for Wildlife Conservation course. I love meeting course participants from all over the world, and learning about the amazing projects that they are working on or would like to in the future.  I am also working as a postdoctoral researcher at Bournemouth University, as a continuation of my PhD project which focussed on African elephant conservation. I've been lucky enough to travel to lots of places for my work and engage with a range of stakeholders. Founder at 'বুনো'(Buno) which is a social media campaign on wildlife. Member of the IUCN SSC Small Mammal Specialist Group, in which I have been collaborating on Red List assessments of the Asiatic Brush-Tailed and Himalayan Crestless porcupines. Also member of Global Youth Biodiversity Network, UNEP Major Group for Children and Youth, UN CBD Women's Caucus and so on. Conducted bachelor thesis and master's thesis on squirrels of Bangladesh. Along with that working on porcupines with some other national and international researchers. Also interested in human-wildlife conflict and coexistence. Besides that contributed to a biodiversity web-course (called Biodiversity.now) in cooperation with Climate university and UnaEuropa -alliance. The project is funded by the Finland Ministry of Education and Culture. I have a eight minutes video in one of the course modules. Skilled in Environmental Awareness, Data Collection, Conducting Workshops, and Interdisciplinary Research. Strong education professional with a Bachelor of science focused in Environmental Science from Independent University, Bangladesh. Also recently finished (unofficial) MSc in Environment Management from IUB. Attends online courses, workshops and conversations to gain more knowledge on environmental specially wildlife. I'm a biodiversity consultant working mainly in the corporate space. I work with large companies to help them figure out their nature-related impacts, dependancies, risks and opportunities, then use this information to create biodiversity strategies.
