We all know that training in professional conservation skills is often only accessible to a very small number of conservationists that have the means to cover the costs of a course. Even most students and practitioners from western countries cannot afford to pay for the training they need due to high debts and lack of institutional support. We also know that conservation as a sector is not very inclusive, with little representation of people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
That is why we want to make professional conservation skills training accessible to all, no matter who they are or where they are from.
To achieve this we need your help!
All you have to do is spend 5 minutes completing this 2022 Annual Global Conservation Training Needs Survey so that you can tell us what subjects you want training in to help progress your career and help restore and protect nature. The survey doubles up as a bursary application form.
The survey is open to NGO staff, managers, students, donors, researchers, consultants, career-switchers, government staff, and job seekers.
You can also help a huge amount by spreading the word about this survey to others in your network using email, social media and any listserves you are members of.
