Conservation Professional looking for work!

Hi, folks. My name is Ali and I am a conservation professional here on the Isle of Man, U.K. My passion and experience is primarily in wildlife conservation, community-based conservation, and environmental education. On my free time, I love swimming, playing with my dog, Steven, and birdwatching.

I am on the hunt for my next conservation opportunity! I've worked all around the world with so many different communities. My highlights have been working with cheetah and vulture recovery in South Africa, environmental education in central California, community-based conservation research in Belize, and most recently, woodland engagement and tree nursery management on the Isle of Man. What brings all of these experiences together have always been the people and being able to learn from them and connect them to nature. 

Since I live on a little island, conservation opportunities are far and few, so I'm looking for remote work :) I figured this would be the platform to make any connections with my fellow conservationists so please let me know if you know anyone or any organisation is hiring! Cheers, everyone!

I've recently immigrated to the Isle of Man from California to join my Manx husband and continue my career in conservation. I have a B.Sc in Wildlife Management and Conservation and an M.A in Biology with a focus on community-based conservation. I am all about creating space for nature-human connectedness through empathy and compassion. 

My past work experience includes being a Nature Instructor in Monterey, California for an environmental nonprofit focused on low-income communities, as well as a Woodland Ranger on the Isle of Man where I managed a native tree nursery and a local woodland, providing tailored engagement opportunities. I most recently led the first green prescription programme on the island!

As I wait for my Spousal Visa to be approved, I am on the hunt for a new conservation opportunity! Let's connect :)
