Hi everyone,
I’m Paola Niño-Mahecha, a biologist from Colombia with a Master’s in Landscape Ecology and Nature Conservation from the University of Greifswald, Germany. Today, I’m reaching out to share a bit about my story and humbly ask for your advice or any potential opportunities in the field of conservation and environmental science.
From the very start of my career, my driving force has been the deep connection between humans and nature. I’ve dedicated myself to understanding this dynamic relationship and contributing to strategies that not only protect biodiversity but also uplift the lives of local communities. Whether it's biodiversity assessments, socio-ecological analyses, monitoring schemes or working on sustainable production projects, I’ve consistently strived to create positive, lasting change. I’ve honed my skills in monitoring systems, statistical programs, GIS, and project management, applying them in a variety of settings to help communities and wildlife thrive together, and the organization to reach their goals.
Despite this passion and experience, my job search has been challenging. I’ve applied to numerous positions, but the competition is fierce, and I’ve encountered many roles requiring highly specialized skills. So I’m here, asking for any insights or advice you might have on how to improve my job search, particularly for international opportunities.
If you know of any openings or ways I can strengthen my approach, I would be truly grateful for your help. I’m also happy to share my CV for anyone interested.
Thank you so much in advance for your support—I deeply appreciate it!
Best,
Paola Niño-Mahecha
