I am writing on behalf of the Women in Conservation Canterbury Network (WCCN) to invite you to our exciting event: “Reflections on Inclusivity Within Conservation Careers” in celebration of International Women’s Day 2024. This event will take place on Friday, March 8th, from 5-7pm, at the social space above Woody’s Bar, at the University of Kent campus, and is open to all interested individuals!
We are thrilled to announce that we have six speakers lined up to share their experiences and insights on inclusivity within the conservation field. Discussions will cover a number of topics: sharing experiences on navigating careers in conservation, personal stories about inclusivity in academic and professional settings, discussing safeguarding practices and support networks, addressing mental health concerns, and exploring inclusivity for minority groups. This encompasses individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, belong to ethnic minorities, are gender minorities, and face challenges related to socioeconomic status in academia.
Please see the poster for further information about the event, and if you can please sign up using the QR code or by following this link.
Look forward to seeing many of you there!

If you can post a recording here after the event, that would be great!
Apologies for the delay! Unfortunately we didn't record or livestream the event, as we were not sure how personal some of the stories were going to be and wanted to keep it a safe space where people could feel comfortable sharing. However, we are hoping on running a similar event next year and given the interest we might consider recording the event!
