A warm welcome to WildHub, Leanne! Great to have you join us and thank you for sharing about the latest Women in Conservation Canterbury event (we're lucky to have you!) and your PhD research. What did you do before your PhD if I may ask?
Perhaps also of interest to you are our WildHub socials which is an informal and easy-going way to network with other members. Upcoming socials are advertised here. Let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you Thirza! I will definitely have a look at the socials! They sound fantastic!
Before my PhD I was actually heading on quite a different path, looking more into opportunities in policy and renewable energy as an intern at The Crown Estate looking at reviewing the evidence on the potential environmental impacts of tidal stream renewable energy.
Great to see you here Leanne! Very cool to hear about what you're doing. May I ask which countries you focus on?
Of course! I have data coming in from Guinea and Cameroon (and potentially Liberia), but I think I will likely focus on Cameroon
If you can post a recording here after the event, that would be great!
Apologies for the delay! Unfortunately we didn't record or livestream the event, as we were not sure how personal some of the stories were going to be and wanted to keep it a safe space where people could feel comfortable sharing. However, we are hoping on running a similar event next year and given the interest we might consider recording the event!
Welcome to WildHub, Leanne. Would you share some of your findings/lessons learned as your research progresses?
Absolutely!
