Pangolin Rescue and Protection project

This is an initiative being implemented by Musa Community Development and Sustainability Organization in Northern Province to secure, rescue and protect Pangolins from smuggling and poaching.

Pangolins are one of the most endangered and most smuggled animals in my country Zambia. Despite efforts from the wildlife department, Pangolins are always vulnerable when they encounter evil people. The risk posed to this animal rose concerns and the government called on conservation organizations to help protect this species. Zambia is on of the countries with various wildlife animals and the list of endangered species include rhinos, elephants, Pangolins and others. In Northern Province Nsumbu national park animals mostly escape the park hence high poaching rate.

It is our mandate to protect, defend, rescue and conserve these endangered species of animals and also we have endangered tree species that is highly smuggled.

Therefore, we are calling upon you fellow conservationists to support us with funds and equipment that could help monitoring the national park easier and enable us to respond to emergencies in our province.

Activities including.

Awareness raising 

Conduct patrols in areas where endangered species are found.

Support community guards with incentives.

Challenges.

Mobility challenge 

Lack of monitoring equipments

Lack of laptops to store data on the number of rescued animals.

Lack of funds to meet awareness raising targets
