As Head of Communications at Whitley Fund for Nature, I am responsible for leading the organisation’s communications strategy, using the charity’s platform to spread awareness about Whitley Award winners across WFN’s website and social media. I lead on campaigns, and support across the charity’s PR and events to raise the profile of Whitley Award winners. I'm also a Trustee of Born Free Foundation, and I founded The Wildlife Blogger Crowd in 2020; a virtual network of over 250 bloggers, social media influencers, podcasters, and filmmakers. In 2021, I published a book of our collective works, ‘Connections With Nature’.
After a decade of training to be a wildlife conservationist, I founded Lonely Conservationists to help conservationists thrive by providing a platform to be heard, employment pathways and a strong community foundation. As well as running Lonely Conservationists, I teach sustainability incursions and excursions to school students in a classroom, forest and marine park environments.
I am passionate about primates, felids and large mammals, conservation education and outreach.
My name is Tania Akhter, Recently I completed my MSc. from Zoology department (Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation), Jagannath University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have been working with wildlife for five years, especially with primate in different protected area in southeastern Bangladesh. I am looking for PhD and for why I am preparing myself by gathering research based knowledge and taking training that I feel need to implement in the field of wildlife conservation. I always like to shared my research knowledge and gather knowledge from others.
I studied Marine Biology in San Diego, California and Wildlife Biology & Conservation in Edinburgh, Scotland. I volunteered, interned, and worked in various capacities at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Hopkins Marine Station, and on a small whale-watching outfit prior to my MSc, and I now work as a Program Delivery Facilitator at the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity in Sacramento, California. My passions lie in informal science education, outreach, and public engagement in the sciences.

Adam has been a global wildlife conservation practitioner in wildlife trade, a forager, ranger, field guide, and wildlife photographer for over 18 years. He has worked within Cambodia for 8 years with NGOs including the Wildlife Conservation Society, Jahoo, Elephant Valley Project, and Marine Conservation Cambodia. His writing, captures, and photo journalism has been shared by NatGeo, Disney, Traffic, and the IUCN. He focuses his photographic work on the unseen, wildlife trade, and environmental education, giving nature a voice not commonly heard. He hopes that his work inspires a different perspective on our human place within nature as its protectors, not living alongside it, but rather living as one and creating a better world to leave for future generations.
My interested include habitat restoration, especially in a tropical forest context and endangered tree species. I have worked as a Ranger in Scotland and before that i worked in agriculture. I have an MSc in ecology and conservation.

My main platform is The Curious Environmentalist but I also have a personal website and I have recently started a newsletter on Substack.
I currently write and do podcasts, but I am hoping to expand into videos too. My whole ethos is about making science accessible to anyone who is curious.
