Victor Ayegba Mathew is a community development and environmental educator with more than 7 years of experience in promoting eco-friendly solutions and creating programs for environmental learning across schools in Nigeria.  He is the founder of Vikipedia (A regerative hub for young minds) and has supported and volunteered for countless organisations related to water, environment, and nature education. He encourages sustainable interaction with the environment through proper waste management demonstrations and activities that educate community members. Victor has been actively involved with environmental firms in his country in both paid and volunteer roles. He volunteered as an assistant data collector for Greenfaith during the 2021 FaithsforClimate Justice, with EarthCharter as a course co-facilitator, and organized campus FaithsforClimate justice under Greenfaith. Victor also partnered with the Swarovski WaterSchool Project (EarthChild International) to promote WASH projects across schools in Nigeria. Currently, he teaches at Sahel Academy Kano state, Nigeria as an Environmental Educator and a fellow with the Foundation For Environmental Education GAIA Fellowship. Victor has a degree in Environmental Science, and a Post Graduate diploma in disaster and risk management. He has completed a program with the University for Peace on Systems Thinking and Regenerative Leadership, and a Leadership, Sustainability, and Ethics course with EarthCharter. He was recently recognized as a Climate Champion with the Climate Leadership Fellowship (Climate Smart Nigeria) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Network (Nigeria). He's also one of the young persons trained and certified by former United States Vice President Al Gore as a Climate Reality Leader.   Driven by the desire for an environmental sustainability-conscious and eco-literate world with individuals and institutions as its frontrunners, Victor is always looking to boost his skills in project design and systems thinking, behavioral change processes, community and educational engagement, corporate social responsibility/investment, social leadership, and people management to amplify the work he’s already doing in the environmental space locally and globally.

Meet Muhammad Asif Khan, a passionate forestry student. With a strong interest in conservation and sustainability, I'm dedicated to understanding the management of forests and the impact of human activity on them. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and camping in the great outdoors. I'm also active in student clubs and organizations related to forestry and environmental conservation. I wish to do my Master's in Forestry abroad.

I am a conservation biologist with experience working in zimbabwe and Nigeria. My areas of interest are: ornithology, conservation technology, conservation communications and Community Based Natural Resource Management. I am currently working at a cattle and wildlife ranch deploying the Holistic management framework to ensure coexistence between people, planet and profit.

I'm a biodiversity consultant working mainly in the corporate space. I work with large companies to help them figure out their nature-related impacts, dependancies, risks and opportunities, then use this information to create biodiversity strategies. 

Our Parks Project

I’m passionate about applied conservation science, particularly that of carnivores and their prey. My research has been primarily linked to small mammal management for sustainable hunting and the conservation of predator communities in Mediterranean ecosystems. Many of my findings have provided an important contribution for policy-makers to design species-specific conservation strategies of threatened species in Iberia, namely the Iberian Lynx Action Plan that included guidelines for the reintroduction of the species in Portugal. My current research focuses on the effects of human-driven environmental changes, such as landscape fragmentation and climate change, on carnivore population ecology to design improved management and conservation strategies, using Lynx species from North America and Europe as models. I am a veterinary surgeon, I have worked for 8 years in small animal practice in the UK, have completed my Master's in Wild Animal Health at the RVC in London and have spent a year travelling and gaining experience of veterinary work with wild animals abroad. I am actively looking for opportunities to start a PhD, ideally looking into infectious diseases in primates which is my strongest area of interest. During my Master's degree, I completed my research project focusing on the diagnostic options for respiratory tuberculosis in sanctuary-housed chimpanzees.

He obtained his specialization, masters, and a doctorate in these areas, and the international diploma GUDS / Urban Management and Sustainable Development (by the World Bank / UN-ECLAC / MINURVI / Italian Coop) In 2001. Has a solid background in Social Program Management, Strategic Planning, BSC, Participatory Appraisal, Project Logical Framework, Resource Mobilization, and Fundraising (by The Resource Alliance) held in Brazil and abroad.

Dr Renuka Thakore is the Founder of Global Sustainable Futures: Progress through Partnership Network to achieve Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 targets. She provides a collaborative platform for innovative and transdisciplinary partnerships and capacity development for early career researchers joined by senior experienced researchers from Global South and Global North. Dr Thakore believes in broader sustainable development concept and uses multi-dimensional lens (social, economic, environmental, political, institutional, cultural, and technological) of sustainability, innovations, and theoretical framings to address the problems of societal systems and propagates this through various activities – research, teaching, and practice towards achieving global sustainable goals 2030 and beyond. She encourages systems thinking, engagement and active participation of multiple stakeholders for effective governance and management for sustainable transformations, use of transdisciplinary methodologies, co-creating solutions that are multi-modal and ‘value-added’ to relevant stakeholders. Renuka is proud of having support of 320 Coordinators from 79 countries.

I am an educator and project manager with over 20 years practice in education for sustainable development and learning from nature. My focus is on helping organisations to improve the quality of their learning provision for a sustainable future and enhance their ability to deliver projects effectively with lasting benefits. I have worked in over 30 countries with NGOs, government, business and civil society organisations. I established Wild Awake as a not-for-profit social enterprise. Its purpose is to develop and provide learning which inspires change towards a more sustainable planet, and support people to live healthy and happy lives which respect natural limits. It achieves this through providing learning which reconnects people with the natural world through first-hand experience. It brings educational expertise in terms of curriculum development, writing activities, training and consultancy in pursuit of this. I bring over 20 years of practical experience in the field of education, delivering a range of projects focusing on climate change and education for sustainable development. I have worked cross-sector with governments, civil society and academic partners to analyse, design and implement education programmes which address a sustainable future and empower people with hopeful solutions for their future. I bring a strong track record of delivering complex projects with diverse partners. This is supported by excellent technical knowledge of climate change, environmental management and sustainable development, backed by good communication skills to deliver effective messages. Saket is a computer graduate turned wildlife conservationist. He has been engaging with several of the wildlife conservation issues in India for over a decade including community based conservation, conservation induced human displacement, eco-tourism, conservation technologies (Radio Telemetry, Camera Traps, UAVs, GIS and RS).

As Head of Communications at Whitley Fund for Nature, I am responsible for leading the organisation’s communications strategy, using the charity’s platform to spread awareness about Whitley Award winners across WFN’s website and social media. I lead on campaigns, and support across the charity’s PR and events to raise the profile of Whitley Award winners. I'm also a Trustee of Born Free Foundation, and I founded The Wildlife Blogger Crowd in 2020; a virtual network of over 250 bloggers, social media influencers, podcasters, and filmmakers. In 2021, I published a book of our collective works, ‘Connections With Nature’.
