Holding a Master of Science in Forest and Nature Conservation from Wageningen University, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development, Ibrahim blends academic knowledge with practical experience. For over a decade, he has worked in the non-profit biodiversity conservation sector, collaborating with international NGOs and UN agencies to drive impactful initiatives. His research includes in-depth analyses of frankincense harvesting regions in Somalia, where he has authored numerous papers on site management and conservation strategies. Ibrahim is committed to promoting sustainable practices that foster harmonious coexistence between communities and wildlife, and he aspires to further his impact through a PhD in the near future.

Mr. Paudel currently serves as a senior program manager at Bird Conservation Nepal. He has over fourteen years of experience in bird and biodiversity conservation, fundraising, project planning and implementation, and engaging with local communities to safeguard threatened bird species.

Je suis Capitaine Alassane Gueye, Ingénieur des Eaux et Forêts, Chasses, Adjoint à l’Inspecteur du service Régional des Eaux et Forêts de Kédougou. Je suis diplômé de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Agriculture(ENSA) de Thiès avec comme spécialité Foresterie et Environnement. Aprés cinq année en service à Kédougou(Senegal) en qualité d'adjoint à l'inspecteur régional des Eaux et Forêts, Chasses, je suis récemment  affecté dans la région de Kaolack pour poursuivre ma mission dans l'administration forestiére. Fort de plusieurs années d’expérience dans la région de Kédougou en suivi-évaluation, en études d’impact environnemental et en gestion des ressources naturelles, je suis convaincu que mon expertise peut contribuer efficacement aux objectifs environnementaux et sociaux de votre entreprise. Mon parcours m’a permis de développer une expertise approfondie en gestion environnementale, en suivi des écosystèmes, ainsi qu’en évaluation des impacts des projets miniers sur l’environnement et les communautés locales. J’ai notamment travaillé sur des projets de reboisement, de suivi des mangroves et de gestion intégrée des zones humides, en lien avec les principes du développement durable et des normes internationales. Since July 2025, I have been serving as the Community Advocates Coordinator at WildHub, where I coordinate initiatives to engage, support, and empower our community advocates in advancing WH’s mission. Beyond WildHub, I wear a few different hats. I work as a researcher and lecturer in Sweden, teaching courses on environmental law, political and historical ecology, and disaster management. I also mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students, collaborate with faculty members, and contribute to ongoing research projects. I’m passionate about giving back through volunteer work. I support a few conservation and animal welfare organisations with research and advocacy to help drive positive change. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking forest trails with my dog or enjoying a good cup of coffee.

An explorer and an aspirant biodiversity conservation researcher. I seek to delve deeper into the study of the human-nature nexus and strive to foster more harmonious coexistence. I have gained brief experience in wildlife conservation at the Creative Conservation Alliance, working with Western Hoolock Gibbons and a few other wild animals. I am also working as an Associate Trainer at Mekateam, a game-based pedagogy where I provide training on basic climate literacy and biodiversity conservation to youth. Moreover, I synthesize and express my understanding of biodiversity and the natural world through my initiative, 'Toru.' Currently, I am undertaking research on Asian Elephants addressing the human-elephant conflict in Bangladesh.

I have just completed my BSc degree in Natural Resource Management (Wildlife & Ecotourism), from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, i also hold a Diploma in Environmental Management. i specialised in wildlife management, GIS and Remote sensing, Research,Biodiversity conservation, ornithology, ecosystem managment, watershed and wetland management, eco tourism planing, environmental education, population ecology and sustainable land mangement. I am Somoye Olawale John, a dedicated wildlife management professional with over a decade of experience in the field. My journey in wildlife conservation began with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Zoology from Olabisi Onabanjo University, where I developed a deep interest in the intricate dynamics of animal populations and their ecosystems. This passion led me to pursue a Master of Wildlife Management from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Currently, I serve as the Principal Zoo Curator at FUNAAB Zoo Park, a role I have held since 2021. In this capacity, I oversee animal husbandry standards, museum keeping, and taxidermy, as well as the construction and maintenance of zoo facilities. My responsibilities also include research, training, and mentoring students, capturing and restraining zoo animals, and administering care and treatment to the animals. Before this role, I was the Zoo Curator, where I gained extensive experience in animal care, facility maintenance, and visitor engagement. My professional interests lie in wildlife ecology, with a particular focus on primate population dynamics and foraging behavior. I have contributed to several research projects and publications, including studies on ectoparasites of domestic dogs and antimicrobial resistance in non-human primates. I am an active member of several professional bodies, including the Nigeria Society for Environmental Conservation (NSEC), Wildlife Management Society of Nigeria (WISON), Nigeria Association of Zoo Gardens and Parks (NAZAP), and the Zoological Society of Nigeria (ZSN). These affiliations keep me connected with the latest developments and best practices in wildlife conservation and management. In my free time, I enjoy reading, meeting new people, and playing chess. Iyanuoluwa Moyinoluwa Shittu is a passionate conservation educationist dedicated to teaching conservation education and getting more people to join in biodiversity conservation. With over two years of work experience in field conservation, Iyanuoluwa is known for her community services and outreach to interior communities. She was popularly known as the “yam girl” after being gifted 80 tubers of yam for crowdfunding and constructing a borehole for a community where she served, Born and raised in Nigeria, Iyanuoluwa developed a fascination for the Sustainable Development Goals during her days at the university. This early curiosity blossomed into a lifelong commitment to biodiversity conservation and raising the next generation of African conservationists (more women this time). She studied for her Masters in Conservation Leadership at the University of Cambridge. Outside of work, Iyanuoluwa enjoys surfing the internet and playing percussion musical instruments, finding inspiration in music and the beauty of nature. Iyanuoluwa is deeply committed to raising awareness for conserving our remaining forests and the wildlife inhabiting them, striving to make a meaningful impact in Nigeria and Africa.

Gervais Muderhwa is Project Officer and Director of the Environment, Conservation and Climate Change Department at MKAAJI MPYA asbl, an organisation working in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  He is also a junior researcher at the Anganza Institute Research Centre and an independent consultant in the field of the environment, particularly conservation. To date, he has carried out floristic and faunistic inventory studies in the Kahuzi Biega national park, as well as other major conservation projects that place local communities and indigenous peoples at the centre of all conservation initiatives.
