I am a conservation professional and TM at Finima Nature Park, Nigeria. I focus on biodiversity protection, community engagement, and building sustainable systems to support long-term conservation outcomes. I have extensive hands-on experience in species monitoring, habitat management, and environmental education. I am Marjan Maria, a young and ambitious wildlife biologist also a proud mom to a baby girl from Bangladesh. I am passionate about conserving the biodiversity of my country and protecting its endangered species. I am particularly interested in the behavioral ecology of primates and herpetofauna. I have researched the Bengal slow loris, Phayre's langur, hoolock gibbon, and other endangered species in Bangladesh. I have also worked on developing conservation strategies for these species. I am also interested in the impacts of road infrastructure on wildlife. I am currently working on a project to study roadkill in primates and other animals in Bangladesh. I believe that wildlife conservation is essential for our planet's health and future generations' well-being. I am committed to working to protect the biodiversity of Bangladesh and to ensure that its wildlife can thrive for generations to come. I am eager to learn and grow. I am Loiruku, a young person born into the Maasai community. I enjoy working with the pastoralist and farming communities because that is where my life began, and I love working with the community and I love wildlife.

I have a broad range of experience in the management of natural resources, landscape restoration, agriculture, wetlands management and conservation, GIS and remote sensing, data analysis, peace and conflict resolution, and research projects with an emphasis on water quality, aquatic system management, and the effects of climate change on marine ecosystems. Through advocacy for policies, conservation education, and conservation projects, I am passionate about preserving the natural world and preserving threatened species. I have delivered superior research services in collaboration with government agencies, religious institutions, and International, regional, national, and local NGOs.

I am Additional Commissioner from Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) with vast experience of law enforcement especially in tackling transnational smuggling  including willdife trafficking. Also, as an expert I have been conducting sessions on various aspects of wildlife crimes and its convergence with other serious crimes, legal and enforcement framework to counter it, wildlife cyber crime, OSINT for combating wildlife crime, combating money laundering associated with wildlife crime, CITES, role of Customs in tackling the menace of wildlife crime, Digital Forensics etc. for forest, police, customs and other enforcement agencies' officials. I have also been invited as an expert by UNODC ROSA to train the law enforcement officials of Sri Lanka on combating wildlife cyber crimes.

I studied Management of Natural Resources at the Université Nationale d'Agriculture du Bénin, where I earned a bachelor's degree upon completion of a study focused on assessing anthropic threats on the Monotes kerstingii population, a tree species in northern Benin, within the forest of Tchaourou-Toui-Kiolibo. Following my studies, I completed a one-year internship at CREDI-ONG (Centre Régional de Recherche et d'Education pour un Développement Intégré), where I actively participated in various activities such as marshbuck monitoring, bird counting, and more. In 2019, I presented a conference on challenges related to biodiversity protection in Benin and France at Refuge de l'Arche in Château-Gontier, France. Subsequently, I joined Oiseaux et Horizons, an NGO that promotes birds through sustainable tourism and awareness. Next year, I plan to pursue a Master's degree in Ecological Engineering at Corsica University.

With a Master’s Degree in Wildlife Conservation and nearly 9 years of experience in India’s biodiversity conservation sector, my professional journey has been enriching and diverse. Having worked at both field and administrative levels, I have been fortunate to gain invaluable experiences that continue to shape my passion for wildlife conservation. I remain eager to learn, adapt, and contribute to this vital field. As a field wildlife veterinarian, I had the privilege of managing and coordinating operations at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center in Northeast India. This hands-on role allowed me to oversee the well-being of rescued wild animals, ensuring their proper care and rehabilitation. Later, I worked on a project focused on emergency response during natural disasters, collaborating with multiple teams under challenging conditions. My last field role involved working alongside a primary response team to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts in forest-fringe areas of North India. Outside of my formal roles, I actively volunteered in wildlife rescues, biodiversity surveys, and provided veterinary assistance, whenever possible. Currently, as a Projects Manager at a leading Wildlife Conservation Charity in India, I have transitioned into a strategic and administrative role. I oversee project planning, fundraising, and resource management. Additionally, I contribute to organizational operations, including financial planning and compliance. Bridging the gap between on-ground conservation efforts and strategic project management allows me to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams - which is always a great experince! My passion remains deeply rooted in protecting India’s rich and diverse ecosystems, and I am committed to making a meaningful impact in this field.

I have particular interest in conservation and behavioural ecology with experience in tropical rainforests of Indonesia.
