I'm a biodiversity consultant working mainly in the corporate space. I work with large companies to help them figure out their nature-related impacts, dependancies, risks and opportunities, then use this information to create biodiversity strategies.
I specialise in communications and marketing for environmental charities, making ordinary people give a damn about and engage in environmental stories and campaigns - fuelling action and creating change. I work for an agency called more onion that helps progressive charities and non-profits have more impact through campaigns, fundraising and/or supporter engagement. My I love working with animal/environmental charities, as this is the area I'm most passionate about. I've worked for WWF, Greenpeace & Surfers Against Sewage, as well as grassroots organisations. As I'm neurodivergent, disabled, a carer and from a working class background, I'm passionate about making sure projects and campaigns are as inclusive as possible - we need everyone to change the world on the scale needed. Studying an MA in Anthrozoology part-time at Exeter (remote). My final project is studying vocalisations of critically endangered captive Javan Green Magpies and how we can use bioacoustics to inform welfare and understanding. Primate fan, but now falling in love with song birds. I have a BSc in Biology from St Andrews and won an Undergraduate Award for my genetics research. I live in the UK. Born in London, but living by the sea in Cornwall. Please feel free to connect on LinkedIn :)

Hello! I have worked in natural resource management and environmental education for several years. In 2022 I moved from Washington State to southern Belize and joined Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) to complete a number of capacity buidling projects and an impact assessment of TIDE's high school scholarship program (big impact!). Along the way, I assisted with grant writing for both organizational sustainability and scientific research grants. I completed the contract with TIDE and am now working as a consultant for Empowering Climate Solutions, based in southern Belize. As a natural resources professional I think every day about the impacts of climate change on everything (!) and as an educator, my goal is always to empower others to take command of their future. I love diving and baby turtles, and when I'm not working I enjoy walks with our dog, yoga, and cooking. Check out my bio on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/carolyn-henri-9099006/
New role as Trusts and Foundations Officer at Surfers Against Sewage (a marine conservation and campaigning charity) in Cornwall, UK
Big cats have always fascinated me. As a young child, I was captivated by Born Free lioness ‘Elsa’ and her extraordinary relationship with humans. This went on to inspire my academic studies and career path. I have been working on wild cats in Africa since 2002, and they have been the focus of my academic studies since 2014. My current research interests are in the behavioural ecology and conservation of wild cats, with a particular focus on the African leopard. I am keen to understand the underlying processes driving co-occurrence among apex predators within protected areas. In particular, how resilient leopards are to the effects of intra-guild competition. For my Master’s research project, I used camera trapping to assess the influence of habitat, prey, and sympatric predators on the occurrence of leopards in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. I have also explored the use of Citizen Science as a tool to monitor leopard populations. My PhD research is investigating the availability of preferred leopard prey and habitat in the Meru Conservation Area, Kenya. I am also identifying hotspots of human-leopard conflict in the buffer zones and considering the potential for conflict resolution.
