This article by Robyn James of The Nature Conservancy discusses gender bias in conservation work  both in communities where conservation work occurs and in organizations that work in these communities.  Most women know this and many of us are working to become better allies for other women.  That's not enough tho.  Things won't change until men also realize that if their true aim is to have successful conservation in the places we love, women's voices must be heard and more women must lead in these spaces.  I love the quote by Maya Angelou, "When you know better, do better", we must all do better to make conservation more inclusive.
