Hello everyone!
Previously I earned a BA in Sustainability and a Minor in Global Health. Post graduation I entered into the aquarium world where I worked as an Education Specialist for two different AZA accredited aquariums consecutively. Unfortunately, I had to leave my second aquarium job for a job that paid a livable wage. I still maintain a volunteer position at the first aquarium. Although having to change jobs to be able to afford to pay my bills was not in my plan, I am eager to make the best of my current situation.

Currently, I work for a business/ legal services company where I provide administrative support for various law firms. This job has carried me through my degree in Conservation Biology. The plan is to accept my upcoming promotion to manage a small team. From that I will gain managerial experience. I will continue to volunteer with the aquarium on their research and writing team (continuing to gain experience in ocean/conservation education). By the end of this year I plan on getting Open Water Diver certified. Lastly, I will have to work overtime looking for flexible internships or additional volunteer opportunities. Hopefully, with these 4 plans of action I will gain enough experience to finally have a career in the conservation field in 2026/2027.

Although my paid experience in the conservation field is lacking, I have 8 years of experience volunteering for various environmental/conservation organizations. The first environmental organization I volunteered with was Tree People LA in 2018. They focused on planting and caring for trees in areas of Los Angeles, California that were lacking green space. My most recent and longest held volunteer position is with the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California where I have worked on their research and writing team since 2022.

Thank you for accepting me into WildHub. I look forward to learning from all of you. :)

Hey there! I've actually been looking for a job that can potentially carry me through getting another degree. I may want to pick your brain sometime on your current work.
