Hi, I'm Jenny

Live in sw France, have been rewilding a small private (6he) landholding since 1999. Half of it was conventionally farmed, i.e. deep ploughing, no hedges, monoculture according to the European Common Agricultural Policy.

I'm not a conservation professional by your definition.  No one pays me, nor do i receive compensation. There,s no line manager. So why do this course?

Have catapulted myself out of my comfort zone! Have managed projects in the aircraft industry a long time ago. Wanted to see how you present "things" in 2024, a lot has changed.

When i was an undergraduate conservation wasn,t a study option. It,s always been a personal passion and now I follow lots of new (and old) groups/organisations . I,m a member of the RES, the BENHS, the french CEN, etc.

Am looking for a european wilding network which includes "small" acreages. Might not find it here. But to get something you,ve never had, you maybe need  to do something you,ve never done. Meanwhile,  you can see us at Www.lafiguerie.com 😏

Am also interested to hear the experience of people who have volunteered in conservation/wilding projects.

Hello Flavia, Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, I've come across Rewilding Europe. They work with organisations/institutions/companies/research facilities/media production groups on large european initiatives. They seem to have 6 or so projects in France, at what I'd call "landscape" scale, sometimes with thousands of hectares.

Here, I'm 25 years "ahead" of them, and miniscule, and private. Can't quite see us networking.

Btw, I recently re-looked at their site, and they had 2 job openings, one for an IT manager, and one for a Dutch speaking office manager.
