Applications are now open for 3 new PhDs under the Leverhulme ‘Space for Nature’ Doctoral Scholars scheme at DICE ‼️Deadline 25th June 2024‼️
1. PhD studentship on “Leveraging Machine Learning to Assess the Impact of Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures (OECMs) on Bumblebee Populations in the UK🐝”
Supervised by Dr Eleni Matechou from DICE, co-supervised by Dr Richard Comont from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust
2. PhD studentship on “Socioeconomic and equity implications of other effective area-based conservation measures in community-managed forests”
Supervised by Dr Mahesh Poudyal from DICE, co-supervised by Dr. Matt Struebig from DICE and Dr Naya Sharma Paudel from Forest Action, Nepal
3. PhD studentship on “Investigating the influence of competing land uses on forest livelihoods and biodiversity in an Indonesian Biosphere Reserve 🇮🇩🌴”
Supervised by Dr Matt Struebig from DICE, co-supervised by Dr Mahesh Poudyal (DICE), Dr Daniel Ingram (DICE) and Chris Wiggs from Sangga Bumi Lestari
In total, over the next 3 years we will be offering ~20 PhD, 15 taught MSc and 3 MSc by Research studentships through this scheme.
