Movies may portray sharks as indiscriminate killers but you are more likely to be struck by lightning than get attacked by a shark. These ancient creatures are crucial to ocean ecosystems, and their populations are declining. Spread the word and help drive action to protect these vital predators. Thanks for sharing, Loretta! Do you celebrate an awareness day for many species? How else do you contribute to the protection of populations?
Hi @Lara Reden
Thank you for your question.
Rather than a celebration, it is a commemoration of specific awareness or days of importance. I do this as part of my outreach, awareness and educating readers and viewers on social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter and of course WildHub Community), as part of my creating an impact, even if it is a small way.
There are several dedicated websites or news portals that alert about an upcoming event and I try my best to highlight it, if the same is of importance or significance to our biodiversity, animals, wildlife, marine life or the human kind.
Every year on July 15, the world celebrates World Youth Skills Day.
July 16, is World Snake Day (I am creating a post on this shortly today)
July 29, is International Tiger Day
