As a promoter of culture and diversity, Gerald Nkusi is a travel ecopreneur with Adventure Afrika and founder of Home of Kigezi (a Museum of Living Culture and Natural History), Nkunga Eco Village, and the Food Forest Africa movement. His roots and home are in Kisoro, a part of the Kigezi region in Uganda. Starting as a waiter trading long nights of work for education at the famous Makerere University 2006 and a US Exchange Alumni-IVLP 2017, he has transformed into a local and global actor in the cultural heritage and conservation space. Gerald's Food Forest Africa movement is revolutionizing the use of small and waste spaces for food, health, education and environment to help counter food insecurity, poor nutrition, and the degradation of natural resources. 

I'm a coral reef ecologist who's left academia and now runs a video production company in London. Our work spans films of all kinds but our main passion and focus is in creating documentary film and meaningful visual stories for charities, projects and people that are trying to make the world a better place. We've spent the last 5 years working on some amazing projects from a BBC World documentary following the miraculous recovery of an 80 year old explorer from COVID, who then went on to climb Cornwall's largest mountain. More recent projects include a week long trip to the mountains of Portugal where we were following the work of a local NGO who's fighting the rising wildfires through the planting of native woodland and trees.  I'm open to speaking with and collaborating on projects across the world to use our skills to help tell stories that matter.

My conservation career started in 1992 when I helped set up and joined a University expedition to the Bolivian Amazon. What started out as a 3-month experience ended up being a life-changing inflection point that set my professional and personal course to the present day. My conservation experience was built bottom-up and hands-on, and includes field data collection and logistics, grassroots organization leadership and project management, community engagement and capacity building, M&E, training and behavior change, and lately climate education through authorship of graphic novels and other resources. My conservation career includes positions as a senior staff member and a principal investigator at the Bolivian BirdLife Partner Armonía, field investigator in the Gran Chaco with WCS Bolivia, field logistics officer for Conservation International's RAP expeditions, and Programme Manager and Senior Manager of M&E at Rare. I currently work as Senior Behaviour Change Specialist with TRAFFIC International, applying behavioural science approaches to support TRAFFIC's work across wildlife supply chains globally. 

After graduating in Coastal Marine Biology in 2014 I landed what was meant to be a temporary, billpaying job. After not much success looking for the right role, I almost gave up on my ambitions of working in conservation, and remained working in administration, moving into supply chain - which has given me some great transferrable skills and understanding of operations. I recently left my job working for an alternative meat producer following some serious self-reflection, realising I need to change my career and do something I really care about. Zoë Lieb is the project coordinator on the Field Engagement team for the Allen Coral Atlas. Coming from a conservation biology background, she was the in-country manager and primary investigator for the Mongolian Bankhar Dog Project for two years, working towards culturally oriented solutions to human-wildlife conflict issues among nomadic herding communities. She has also worked as a marine observer collecting management data for Alaskan crab fisheries and other data collection positions. She received her MSc in Conservation Biology from University of Kent in the United Kingdom in 2019. Her expertise includes program development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and community-supported conservation strategies.

I have a background in Social Anthropology and recently graduated from DICE with an MSc in Conservation and Rural Development. I carried out fieldwork in Uganda for my dissertation focusing on the impacts of tourism and conservation on residents working in community-led enterprises that live around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Prior to that I interned at Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) a grassroots NGO focused on improving community well-being and mountain gorilla conservation using a one health approach. . I believe that securing and supporting the rights of indigenous and local people are crucial and I am passionate about environmental and social justice and interested in the political ecology of conservation, convivial conservation and bio-cultural approaches to conservation.

I have recently graduated from DICE with an MSc in Conservation Biology. I have a particular interest in the conservation of herpetofauna and carried out research in the UK on slow-worm use of refugia for my MSc dissertation and I also worked in Jersey looking at agile frog habitat suitability. I have a background in local government technology and project management and currently work in this field.
