I’m Asmita Ranapaheli, a passionate turtle researcher with a Master’s degree in Ecology and Environment from Tribhuvan University. My work is driven by a belief that conservation thrives on collaboration. By uniting diverse voices and expertise, we can create innovative, sustainable solutions to protect habitats, empower communities, and safeguard endangered species.
In addition to my research, I run Respite, a YouTube channel where I bring the wonders of wildlife, plants, and zoology to a wider audience. Through captivating and accessible content, I aim to inspire curiosity, foster a deeper connection with nature, and highlight the urgent need for biodiversity conservation in an increasingly fragile world.

Hi there all! I'm a natural scientist with 25years experience employing behavioural science to promote sustainable development and biodiversity conservation solutions. I've worked at TRAFFIC, the wildlife trade specialist, since 2011 and lead their programme on social and behaviour change. We have projects in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas and are currently also implementing a two year Technical Support Programme for the 30+ countries in the Global Wildlife Program interested in bringing behaviour change into their projects. These deal with issues such as Human Wildlife Conflict and Coexistence, Wildlife Trade, One Health, Nature Based Tourism and Nature Based Economies. We also work closely with the CITES Secretariat and I have been rolling out regional training for Parties in 'Guidance on Demand Reduction' that I wrote and was adopted at CoP19 in Panama. Lots of exciting work and opportunities in this space, if you're interested to know more please drop me a line! Wishing you all well with your own work!

An explorer and an aspirant biodiversity conservation researcher. I seek to delve deeper into the study of the human-nature nexus and strive to foster more harmonious coexistence. I have gained brief experience in wildlife conservation at the Creative Conservation Alliance, working with Western Hoolock Gibbons and a few other wild animals. I am also working as an Associate Trainer at Mekateam, a game-based pedagogy where I provide training on basic climate literacy and biodiversity conservation to youth. Moreover, I synthesize and express my understanding of biodiversity and the natural world through my initiative, 'Toru.' Currently, I am undertaking research on Asian Elephants addressing the human-elephant conflict in Bangladesh.

I was born in Kenya and have lived i the UK for 42 years now. My many years of working with small businesses and running various events to raise the profile of the businesses, has landed me a post for fundraiser Trustee for a UK wildlife Hospital. The founders of the hospital are very seasoned friends of mine and their dedication to saving every wildlife animal bird that comes through their door, is simply inspirational.
Therefore, I want to learn more about writing funding applications and grant applications. I also want to share my experiences of what has worked for us and what has not. Hopefully, we can all become better at doing what we do, through skill sharing.

Hi! I'm Fleur and I'm coming to the end of my MSc in Behaviour Change at Aberystwyth University. However, I originality completed my BSc degree in Zoology and as such, I have studied and/or worked in quite a variety of disciplines, such as animal behaviour, ecological monitoring, habitat rewilding, peatland restoration, community engagement and education, and veterinary antimicrobial-use behaviour change. I have a deep rooted love for the natural world and would love to spend my days exploring tropical rain forests searching for the most magnificent species, but I feel my true calling is to be proactive and work with all people, academics and communities, to try and solve environmental and wildlife crises. I hope over the coming years I will have opportunities to further develop my knowledge and skills in behavioral science and apply these to tackling the most prevalent issues concerning wildlife and vulnerable species, such as hunting and poaching, the illegal wildlife trade, human-wildlife conflicts, and overall animal welfare. It seems wildlife conservation and BeSci are yet to become a fully cemented partnership, so if you have the same interests as me, please get in touch!
