Hi All!  I am a relatively new graduate (finished my MSc in Wild Animal Biology in 2022) and I have since been working in an unrelated field whilst trying to look for opportunities related to wildlife project support, coordination, and management in London. Like many new graduates, I am looking to get my foot in the door, but I think part of the reason I am having some trouble is not having as much field experience. Living in London limits opportunities to gain this practical knowledge, so I have decided to cast a wide net and move to South East Asia next year.  I am in the process of looking for any opportunities (paid or volunteering) to work on large or small mammal projects in the region and in doing so came across an internship in partnership with Conservation Careers working with semi-wild Asian Elephants in Chiang Mai.  I am normally wary of these types of internships where you have to pay to help on projects, but this opportunity peaked my interest as they do seem focussed on research, animal welfare, and increasing employability with their program, offering a qualification with the University of Richmond as well as community engagement and leadership opportunities. Before I made the leap, I wanted to bring it to the community and get your opinions on whether these types of paid internships are ethical and worth it?   If anyone also had any recommendations for volunteering opportunities or projects that are looking for support that would be absolutely incredible as I am aware of the issues surrounding eco tourism and want to make sure I only look at ethical organisations.  Thank you so much in advance for any advice or help!  A million thanks and kind wishes, Ashling
