Adelakun Kabir Adekunle

I am a lover of nature and Conservation enthusiast with focus on wildlife conservation and conservation education to promote community engagement thereby fostering nature based solutions.
I'm dedicated to protecting biodiversity and promoting sustainable practices. I'm eager to connect with like-minded professionals, share knowledge, and explore opportunities for collaboration and growth towards making a positive impact on the environment and wildlife!
Passionate about biodiversity conservation, I recently completed a Master’s degree in Environmental Management at Brunel University in London, where I deepened my understanding of environmental strategies and sustainable management. My academic and professional background has allowed me to develop both a scientific and operational approach to conservation, with a growing specialization in marine ecosystem protection and environmental project management.
After completing a six-month internship at the Wildlife Aid Foundation (WAF) in England—where I contributed to wildlife rehabilitation efforts and public awareness campaigns—I joined the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco as a Scientific Animator. This role enables me to combine scientific communication with public engagement, helping to raise awareness about the critical challenges facing marine conservation.
The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, founded by Prince Albert I, is a world-renowned center for ocean protection and environmental education. Through my role, I have the opportunity to translate complex scientific concepts into engaging educational experiences, interact with an international audience, and contribute to the museum’s essential mission: to inspire action for the preservation of the ocean and its biodiversity.
In parallel, my experience in event management, particularly as a wedding and corporate event supervisor, has helped me develop key skills in team leadership, organization, and coordination. These competencies are directly transferable to my professional goal: becoming a Marine Conservation Project Manager, specializing in species recovery programs and the management of marine protected areas.
As a passionate scuba diver (Level 1) and holder of a boating license, my connection to the marine environment extends beyond my professional activities—it is at the core of my personal commitment. Exploring underwater ecosystems further fuels my determination to protect marine species and their habitats.
I’m Asmita Ranapaheli, a passionate turtle researcher with a Master’s degree in Ecology and Environment from Tribhuvan University. My work is driven by a belief that conservation thrives on collaboration. By uniting diverse voices and expertise, we can create innovative, sustainable solutions to protect habitats, empower communities, and safeguard endangered species.
In addition to my research, I run Respite, a YouTube channel where I bring the wonders of wildlife, plants, and zoology to a wider audience. Through captivating and accessible content, I aim to inspire curiosity, foster a deeper connection with nature, and highlight the urgent need for biodiversity conservation in an increasingly fragile world.
Life long conservationist that took a different career path earlier in life, after years working in banking, I'm finally looking to switch careers and work within the environmental sector.
Currently studying year 3 for a degree in Environmental Science and then will be doing a masters afterwards as well. I have extensive operational and relationship management experience in the highest pressure environments so have done this backwards. Business and life experience forst and then a relevant qualification.
Looking forward to connecting with others and driving g my career forward.

I am an environmentalist with a diploma in Forestry and Wildlife, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Oceanography, specializing in aquatic ecosystem management. I began my career with the development association, Alternatives Durables pour le Développement (ADD), where I successfully led several environmental and agricultural projects over a span of five years. I was born in Kenya and have lived i the UK for 42 years now. My many years of working with small businesses and running various events to raise the profile of the businesses, has landed me a post for fundraiser Trustee for a UK wildlife Hospital. The founders of the hospital are very seasoned friends of mine and their dedication to saving every wildlife animal bird that comes through their door, is simply inspirational.
Therefore, I want to learn more about writing funding applications and grant applications. I also want to share my experiences of what has worked for us and what has not. Hopefully, we can all become better at doing what we do, through skill sharing.
