You're welcome Phakamani, good to have you join us. I'm curious to know how far your Country Zimbabwe has progressed in the Carbon credits space; strategies, policies, implementation?
Thank you Grace,
Zimbabwe has taken significant steps by introducing a framework to guide carbon projects last year. The government has also recently signed deals with investors for restoration initiatives, and we anticipate to witness more restoration projects unfold throughout this decade.
Despite encountering challenges, particularly with the renowned REDD project like Kariba REDD, I am optimistic about the future. I foresee a notable increase in the number of projects in 2024, signaling a positive trend in the carbon credits landscape.
As a professional in the NGO sector we intend to use fuel efficient stoves and other cleaner sources for carbon credit projects.
Thank you for your contribution @phakamani sithole and @Ussi Abuu Mnamengi and wishing you both the very best wishes for 2024!
