Hello WildHub community,

My name is Lloyd Kujingo, Treasurer of the Bunda Environmental Club (BEC) at LUANAR, Malawi. I’m sharing our semester plan to connect with others for collaboration, mentorship, or support on our conservation and community work.

As passionate student conservationists, we are excited to share our action plan for the upcoming semester. Our focus is on renewable energy, innovation, clean-up activities, and alternative livelihoods that can empower rural communities and contribute to environmental sustainability.

🌿 Bunda Environmental Club (BEC) – Plan for Next Semester (July–December 2025) Empowering Communities through Renewable Energy, Innovation & Clean Environments

📝 Our Plan Includes:

1. Promotion of Renewable Energy

   • Identify and work with a specific rural village.

   • Conduct community sensitization and education on the use and benefits of renewable energy before implementation.

2. Biochar Briquette Initiative

   • Collaborate with engineering students to introduce biochar briquettes as clean alternatives to charcoal.

   • Train local people to make and use briquettes, reducing deforestation.

3. Training in Environmental Data Collection

   • Train members and youth on statistical tools and software packages for data collection and analysis.

4. Clean-Up Campaign

   • Organize a community clean-up to raise awareness on waste management and promote environmental hygiene.

5. Innovation Hub

   • Create a space for youth to develop green ideas and climate-smart innovations.

6. Beekeeping for Livelihoods

   • Introduce beekeeping as a model to support income generation and forest conservation.

We are currently seeking:

• Collaboration with conservation-focused institutions or student groups

• Technical advice or training support

• Donors/sponsors for tools, beehives, or briquette equipment
