Hi everyone, I'm Janice and I completed my PhD research that was focused on improving animal welfare. I currently work with the state government's Nature Education team and also part-time at an environment centre, helping connect young people and the wider community with nature.
My background includes research, community engagement, citizen science, teaching, wildlife illustration and managing environmental projects. I'm passionate about telling stories that spark curiosity and deepen our connection with the natural world. Would love to connect with others working in the space of Nature Education and Community Engagement.

🌿 Welcome to WildHub, Janice! 🌿
It's an absolute pleasure to have you join the community! Your multidisciplinary background, spanning research, education, citizen science, and even wildlife illustration, is a testament to the rich tapestry of experiences that conservation thrives on. The way you blend storytelling with nature connection is truly inspiring.
Your current role with the Nature Education team and your part-time work at the environment centre sound like powerful avenues for nurturing the next generation of nature stewards. At WildHub, you'll find plenty of kindred spirits also passionate about sparking curiosity and deepening our bond with the natural world.
I'd love to hear more. What kinds of stories or themes have you found resonate most with the young people you work with? Are there particular creatures, places, or experiences that seem to open the door to wonder and engagement?
Looking forward to learning from you and seeing the magic you bring to the community!
Warmly, Simon 🌍
